What a bloody mess! 190,000 AK-47s assault rifles and pistols have gone missing in Iraq! Now American distributed weapons are being used to kill American soldiers! The Iraqi insurgents and the Al Qaeda are now armed to the teeth!

The US military cannot account for 190,000 AK-47 assault rifles and pistols given to the Iraqi security forces, an official US report says.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) says the Pentagon cannot track about 30% of the weapons distributed in Iraq over the past three years. Correspondents say it is now feared many of the weapons are being used against US forces on the ground in Iraq.

Remember the American choppers shot down in Iraq killing scores of American servicemen? Yes. Stinger missiles! Made in America! Remember the millions, yes, millions of weapons issued to the mujahideen in Afghanistan against the Soviet troops in the 80s? They're still using them against coalition forces there and elsewhere.

Hell, it's not only the American soldiers who are being clobbered with their own weapons in Iraq, but also the thousands of innocent civilians who will be in other parts of the world.

Pistols: 80,000
Body armour pieces: 135,000
Helmets: 115,000

I've watched many of insurgent videos where they shot down helos and none of them were Stinger missiles. Usually SA-7s.

Not to mention using high caliber machines as well hidden in trucks as anti aircraft weapons.

When you have insurgents and terrorists infiltrating the Iraqi Army and Iraqi police there is not much we can do about it when they can easily sneak in tons of weapons and pass it into insurgents hand, not to mention attacking on convoys that transport weapons. And to mention that Americans not able to manage to occupy a nations, well it shows how bad we are in occupation since we just not good for such things anyways. And since we seem to have a hard time occupying a nation, you should not be surprise the loss of number of weapons as well, its just a human nature to make many mistakes.

And it ain't just on the Bush Administration, but also other previous Administrations. Like Rumsfeld has said before about the lost of 2.3 trillion that is unaccounted for.

OK, here's a vid of this very serious issue. This smacks of a total lack of oversight procedures and inefficiency of the highest order. I mean, how can anyone ever let this happen? Are there NO checks and balances in place?

I think the American higher command must leave their 'gung-ho' attitude behind in America. It's doing them no good in Iraq anyway! It's no point being equipped with the latest gizmos if you're going to tie one hand behind your back due to gross inefficiency and a couldn't-care-less attitude.
