I enjoyed it, but I thought it was too short, and all it really did was take existing information and present it in a clever way.

I saw this vid about a year and a half ago.... its a very good flick, like the style with which it was made

I would say the most likely used Adobe After Effects or some other high end video compositing software like Combustion. Looks like they might have also used some 3D elements as well. Whatever the case, stuff like this takes some real talent to do.
