US To Pump Weapons Worth $63 Billion In The Middle East!

The US will help its allies in the Middle East meet their security needs and counter the growing power of Iran, the US secretary of state has said.

Condoleezza Rice met key Arab allies a day after announcing arms deals worth $63bn (£31bn) for a host of Middle Eastern states.

$63 billion! I think it's obscene. Though Condy claims it's a hedge against Iran, its probably a deterrent against Syria and the Hezbollah too.

Is it this or also the need to shore up the American military-industrial complex? Seems to be one of the biggest business propositions! But how many more civilians are going to die for the continued but failing American strategy in the Middle East?

Seems even up to me. I just heard on the news that Russia is selling fighter aircraft and long range tankers to Iran. Nothing like keeping up with the Joneses.
