Well, we DO have a number of people here who sympathize with Fidel and if they only knew the hell he caused and is causing, they wouldnt be saying
that.
But to compare the left with Commie sympathizers is not right.
I never said all democrats or everyone in the left is a Commie, but yes it is true that many of the programs/ideas the left have in mind are very
similar to that of Communist countries.
You just have to take a look at some of the things that the left has been doing since around the 60s.
The protests against the Vietnam war were strengthtened by iconic images which "supposedly showed the U.S. was aiding injustices, as in the case of
the NLF officer who was executed in front of journalists. Since the media even back then decided to leave the truth out, it seemed that it was an
injustice. What the journalists edited out of their film was the ditch in which 30+ bodies of South Vietnamese people, many who were police officers
and families of the police officers who were bound and executed by the NLF....
Like that iconic image there were several other images used to give more strength to the opposition of the war...through lies, or exagerations....
Then you had people like Jane Fonda, who was filmed laughing, posing, and joking with North Vietnamese troops, and she would define American soldiers
as "baby killers"...but would say nothing of the injustices done by the North Vietnamese against the South Vietnamese who
didn't want to be
subjected to Communism....
There are many other examples, but then it would make this thread too big, and i really don't have the time nor the inclination to be looking at
everything the left has been doing since then.
Anyways, nowadays you get people like Alex Jones asking Chavez to help him find the truth about 9/11... You get people like Moore going to Communist
Cuba and performing a stunt, which is nothing more than a lie, claiming the healthcare in a Communist dictatorship is better than the healthcare in
the U.S.
Not only that, you can even see in these forums that many from the left side with dictators like castro and people like Chavez, who is also a
Communist, and these people claim we can learn from the systems of those countries.
Then you get the people from the left who make up lies claiming the U.S. is responsible for deaths which were caused by for example "Communist
regimes", and those same people and others make any and every claim to try to bash and blame the U.S. for everything that happens in the world.
Not to mention the fact that the left has even picked up the motto said by Communist dictators to "destroy Capitalism and supplant it with a
socialist system"...
And you ask me why I say that the left is leaning way too close to Communist ideals?
WEll, i don't know... i guess they haven't sided with Communists, bashed and blamed everything that happens in the world, including the deaths
caused by Communism on the U.S., they haven't cheered Communist dictators and claimed "we can learn from such dictatorships", and they haven't
asked for help from Communist dictators such as castro and Chavez....or have they?....
Anyways, the problem as i see it is that most people who are from the left have never seen or experienced what really happens in Communist regimes,
and many of those people cheer Communist regimes like that of Cuba, as if it was the most wonderful system, and castro or even Chavez as saviors of
the world.
I am certain there are some who realize there is a connection, and that's exactly what some in the left want.
Conspiracies are not only confined to "The U.S. government is behind every evil in the world"... There are quite a few people from the left that
don't have anything good in mind for the American people, or for the world for that matter.

This country is going to hell rapidly and its that far rabid right who wants to step all over the US constitution and do things their way. Its chaos,
and getting worse. More than 80% want impeachment for both Bush and Cheney- that ought to tell you something.
DG, you sound like "you want things to go your way"....
Anyways, the time when America was at it's greatest was when "conservative ideas" were cherished by all, including the media.
The time when Americans were proud of anwsering the call to help other countries , even if it meant going to war.
Now-a-days the liberal media shows only the bad, but not the good. During WWI and WWII there were factories built just to supply for the war, which
OMG RICH PEOPLE OWNED, AND THEY MADE PROFITS BECAUSE OF WARS!!!!
of course it also gave jobs to thousands of Americans...
BTW, tell us who was it that gave more rights to criminals than to the law abiding citizen?...
Who wants to take away the weapons from all law abiding citizens?...

We need a change! And we need a change now and i say impeach the hijos de pura NOW.
Impeach them for what exactly?.... Some other members and i have shown dozens of comments from pretty much every leader in the world and pretty much
everyone, including Democrats and others from the left, all who believed Saddam had WMD before the war...and some like former President Clinton still
thought there were WMD even after the invasion and when people were doubting anything was to be found. But now for some strange reason everyone wants
to blame the current U.S. administration for
something the whole world believed in.....
Is it because you have to fill out a form if you and a group of people want to demonstrate against or in favour of whatever you want to demonstrate
about?.... Has it ever crossed your mind what would happen if for example KKK members were able to freely demonstrate in black neighborhoods?....
Hey that's freedom of speech right?....but then again a bloodbath would ensue.... Hence demonstrations need to be set up in a way that everyone can
be safe.
If people have to fill out paperwork and have to be assigned specific areas where they can protest is simply to protect others.... The U.S.
Constitution does not protect only the rights of some protesters.... it protects all of us...
Of course if it was up to, for example protesters who are against president Bush, they would form a line right in front of his car, they would throw
stones and bottles, which they have done, and would even attack the president if they had the chance.... i guess some believe they have the right to
do so....but they don't.
In any and every society there is a need for rules and laws...otherwise it would be anarchy.

Far left and far right- we need to be somewhere in the middle like we have been before.
When was there really a middle of the road DG?
You came to the U.S. in the early 60s, you were 8 years old. Back then things were differently in many ways. I can't speak/write about you in
specific because I don't know exactly what experiences you had in the U.S. back in the 60s and 70s. But that was a time when the left started
growing and getting more support, there was the anti-war movement which you grew up to experience and which could have swayed your opinion.
I can tell you about two friends of mine who are brothers and they are older than me, and one of them is older than you, who both also came from Cuba
back in the early 60s. They told me things were so different back then that they had to even change their names to sound more American, because with
Cuban names it was very difficult to get a job. Hence i would say that many of the older generations of Cubans who came to the U.S. back then had to
make many changes to be able to be accepted here.

We need peace, man, dude. Before we blow ourselves up to kingdom come. I got living to do, and my guess is so do you.
I do think we are on the eve of destruction.
Well, peace is always good but peace is only a break in between wars. It has been this way since the dawn of manking and will continue to be this way
until we are no longer walking on this Earth.
Whether you want to accept it or not, there are several nations in this world, and many of them don't have the same plans or have the wellbeing of
the rest of the world, or even their own people in mind, and i am not talking about the U.S.
There are several countries/regimes which have plans to expand around the world. When the U.S.goes after a regime which was not only brutal but at
the time seemed to have WMD, and could still exist buried somewhere in the desert of Iraq, the left wants to claim "the U.S. wants to dominate the
world"....
You get Islamic radicals making terrorist attacks not only in the U.S. but several nations around the world and the left wants to claim it is all made
up by the U.S. government....
Why is it that the left turns a blind eye to what is really happening in the world, including the statements made by crazy lunatics such as the
Iranian president who says the destruciton of Israel and even it's allies is near?....
Or even Chavez makes claims that the world needs to stop Capitalism and the U.S. if we want to survive, and Chavez wants to expand the "revolution"
to be a global conflict.... or any of the other dictators/world leaders who make similar statements....
But i guess i must agree with the left and accept lies and claims that the U.S. is to blame for pretty much everything that happens everywhere in the
world...
