Do Conservatives Really Love Clinton?

I thought this article was interesting:

WASHINGTON — Since when is Hillary Rodham Clinton the conservatives' pinup gal?

After Clinton delivered a foreign-policy cold-cock to Barack Obama's head during a Democratic presidential debate on Tuesday:

• Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard, a neo-conservative weekly, wrote that she responded "firmly and coolly " to the now-famous "would-you-meet-with-despots" question.

• Rich Lowry of National Review, a conservative weekly, gushed like a schoolboy with a crush: "She excels ... Clinton has run a nearly flawless campaign and has done more than any other Democrat to show she's ready to be president."

I don't think this is a conspiracy theory. There's a good chance that a Democrat will win this presidential election no matter who the Republican candidate is, just because of the negative feeling for the present Bush admin. Of all the Democrats, Hillary does seem to be both the most qualified and most presidential.

She was the first (and only) First Lady to have her own office in the West Wing, and the Clinton Admin fought and won in court to extend executive privilege to cover her activities.

So, this is going to be a virtual third term for Billary. But it's a legit loophole in the 22nd Amendment. If she wins and it doesn't work out maybe they'll be a move to amend that to include spouses too.

I think left and right is being dissolved. Hear arnie talk, and says he is not left or right, people just want someone right for the job. The two parties seem to be very similar, nowadays. They even say reagan was a red(i do not know, because was to young to remember reagan), but people claim he was really a leftie.

People just want a change, and there is never going to be a better opportunity for a women to get elected, because people jsut want something different.

Just like the Ron Paul supporters, every chance I get to spam a Democrat Poll, I always vote for Mrs. Bill Clinton!

The only way to guarantee a Republican victory is to run against Mrs. Bill Clinton.

This is going to be an election where it is going to be more important to vote against something, than for someone.

When you vote against Mrs. Bill, you are voting against:

Higher taxes...say goodbye to the Bush tax cuts which have gave us this great economy.

Socialism...income redistribution...you work to hard for your money, and it's not fair to those who don't.

Surrender in Iraq...Terrorists love weakness, and they are going to love Mrs. Bill.

Liberal Judges...definately don't want the Supreme Court going back to the left after the great job Bush did with his nominees. Can you imagine another Ruth Buzzy Ginsburgh on the court?

Please give me Mrs. Bill Clinton. The Republicans are going to need all the help they can get!

Have you ever heard the saying, "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it"? This isn't Geraldine Ferraro and this isn't 1984(hmm, interesting year, Orwell anyone?) and Ronny is dead. I think this Administration is a little behind the lovin that Reagan was enjoying that election year.

Even with Hillary in I don't see things changing though. That's the difference between the two of us, you think there's a choice. I see corruption in both of these parties. Business as usual imo.

Do the americans here think it matters to there own lifes, whether a dem or rep candidate wins. How will 1 person affect your life, or do you assume they actually have a choice in how to run things?

The Clinton's strike me as the kind of people that Republican supporters would love to hate at this stage of the game. As for the comments in the article I think it is more an case of an grudging respect being shown for the fact that Hillary candidacy is an well oiled machine that shows no signs of running out of steam.

If you look at her Republican counterparts the fire hasn't even been lit yet little alone the risk of one of the candidates running out of steam before the finish line.

IMO people tend to support Hillary because they think she will win rather then any great belief in her as a candidate.
