Hubby's bday is about 1 month away and I have NO idea what to get him. He used to collect action figures but stopped that. He doesn't do much to his truck. I'm not sure what to get him. Any ideas are very much appreciated!

*Eyes glaze over*

Er, um that is, you could get him, well you know, make it a night he wont soon forget..

Umm, as for more material possessions, I suppose maybe something sports related,
like a fishing poll or bowling ball.

Or maybe the newest CD for his favorite band/singer.

Or maybe just make him a steak dinner or something like that.

Men are very hard to get gifts for when you don't have a specific area of interest to base it on.

I agree with Iori on this one, give him something you can't buy in a store.

Well yeah, the "night" deal. That always works.
Don't wait for a birthday, though.

For a present, just get him something that fits in with his interests that he'd never buy for himself.

Here are three of my favorite sites for browsing "stuff".

Gizmodo

Brookstone

Hammacher Schlemmer

Most guys like electronics and little gizmos. A good fall back if he doesn't have a specific hobby like hunting, fishing, golf, etc.

No but you can sure buy some nice "accesories" to make the actual gift even better

I don't know... some things just can't be improved upon. [IMHO]

The phrase "gilding the lily" comes to mind.

Just get him some good colone. If he doesn't have a cabinet full of it already, he'll love it. If you have been married a long time a doubt the night thing will excite him too much.

Ooohh you guys are so naughty hehehe... Hey if the night thing ever fails to excite him, then he best pack his bags. Nuff said. Accessories? Hmmm interesting, could work. YR, what is gliding the lily???

Cologne definately. He's a typical guy when it comes to gadgets. He's got a zune(spelling?) and likes it alot. Do they have accessories? Wants a new laptop, but I don't know the specs he wants.

He's not into sports, bowling or fishing. He's mentioned paintballing a few times.

Thanks for the ideas so far, I appreciate it.

Gadgets. When in doubt, go for gadgets. I love Think Geek.

Check out the knife holder:

www.thinkgeek.com...

Or you could get some passes or gift certificates for a paintball field. There has to be one near you somewhere.

You could send him with all your kids to play paintball for his birthday and you could end up getting the gift of relaxation.

Actually, I'm not sure. Sounds like some mysterious Japanese technique that requires a swinging basket sling and...

Aaaaaanyway I said "GILDING the lily" which refers to putting gold on a lily. In other words, making a futile attempt to improve something that's already pretty close to perfect.

Sorry, I misread it. My appologies...

Hey, don't apologize. I think I might like your version better.

Anyway, check this out. I just found this site last night-

www.junglecrazy.com... It has all the superdedooper deals from Amazon in one place. Everything's at least 70% off and there are a lot of gizmo/gadget type things there.

*hugs* thanks YR. I was rather sleepy yesterday and not all here LOL Maybe we ought to make a thread asking members to define gliding the lily Not sure if there's a board for that lol

I am checking out all the sites today. Keep fingers crossed I find something

Power tools.........

Get him a set of cordless stuff like a drill with some attachments, or a cordless saw with battery packs that are interchangeable with other tools from the same manufacturer.

I have no idea how handy your man is around the house and yard, but cordless power tools are something I can never get enough of.

hehehe he's got more power tools then home improvement projects!

What about sending him off to go on an all day guy thingy. Gift cert to the shooting range, then a gift cert to go paintballing, maybe a movie pass....then take him to dinner, minus kids, and find a place to "park" LOL

It would certainly work for me
especially the part after "....then".

It's all good. I'm sure he'll appreciate the effort you put in to whatever you decide.
