Religion Debate

I am sick and tired of the consent debate of religion were it doesn't belong. if you have an issue with it. Put it HERE. and let the rest of us have our peace.

Trust me, if you're on here much longer you'll be a million times sicker of the c2c drone saga..the religion stuff you just learn to tune out.

Understood. Personally, I find the notion of God in Heaven to be outdated and beyond belief. The idea that God created Us so that we may worship him (or choose not to) so that one day we will be beside him in paradise seems kind of stupid, and a bit of an underachievement. God being a perfect entity, could it not create other beings just like it?

I believe there is more to life than just this place, i think there may be some kind of greater collective conciousness that we have pasted the notion of god onto, but do i believe "that there is an eternal parent figure, waving his finger at us saying 'do it and i f-ing spank you'"* no.

The problem with religion and peoples concept of God is that when people expierence God, it often directly conflicts with what they've been told about God. When this happens, instead of throwing away what they are told to think, they throw away God entirely.

Most folks I know have a concept of God based on what they are told by parents, teachers, preachers, scientists, etc.. If people would only look to thier own expierences instead of the expierence of others, how we understand God would totally change. I do not think God is a concept that should be thrown out. However, unlike our technology, unlike our science, God is way past due for an update. Alot of the things the world religions say they know about divinity are simply wrong. The whole subject needs some fresh air.

In fact, I believed God might be a female, But when I called on Jesus EVERYTHING CHANGED!!!
I became like a child again. HAPPY. Although I like to think I've learned a few things since my naive beginnings.

I am glad you have found what works for you. However many people could say the exact same thing only replacing the word 'Jesus' with 'Buddha', 'Thor', Zeus', 'Science' or 'Lucifer'. How can we decide which path is the true path when the respective belief system work for the ones following them.

Clearskies, what does God want?
What could prevent God from getting what he/she/it wants?
What happens when God doesn't get it?

I do not follow any religious dogma.

But does that mean I don't believe in God? NO.

As Stewart mentioned, personal experience is infinitely more credible than following what someone else told you...Regardless of who they are.

I find it personally absurd that God is either 'male' or 'female.' In my opinion, God is both and neither. It cannot be understood in human terms, but we can understand parts of the Almighty.

I usually refer to God as 'God' but even then leads to it being a male figure. Sometimes I like to call on God/Goddess or whatever a non-gender entity would be.

From my experience, God is not a person that you can see with long white hair like a human.

God is Spirit, a white light of infinity. God is also within us. We all have that spark of life.

You do not need a religion to dictate what is right or wrong, or how to worship or be thankful for your life.

Look within, you will find all the divinity you need...Although the Light of God is in another dimension, parts of the creator are our own individual Spirits.

We are ONE.

tell me if this doesn't make since. from my research I found that God is definently not a physical being, nor is he male or female. He is a collection of some kind of living energy. never living never dead. incomplet control of the world we live in. but with good comes evil and that what sin is. a collection of dead energy.

I would love to write a resurch paper on this but onlyif I can get some support.
