Below is the link to a very disturbing story, in short Bush 2.0 wanted to pull the funding from PBS, and a hefty amount it was too!!! I wonder what the residents of Sesame Street thought about this...

Story here

When will this madness stop??? Arrrrrgh!

Anyone who pays for Cable or Satellite TV pays a portion of their monthly statement to PBS for service, so PBS is not free TV as we are lead to beleive.

So I say drop the Fed funding to PBS.

It's a liberal stage for the politcal left and thats not fair for the center or the rights point of views.

If PBS shared the spotlight with the Right I would not have a problem with Federal funding, but the way it is run today it's a liberal one view only TV station that needs to have the Federal funding pulled.

Utter Bullstick. In what way is PBS liberal? Are you talking about their airing of Nova specials on string theory? Maybe the documentaries on fungi? Or is it that Burt and Ernie are confirmed roommates for the past 20 years.

Just because you don't watch it doesn't mean that it's not a valid and educational tool for the public.

Maybe PBS doesn't have Jesus at hart to become conservative enough, so its tagged liberal.

I agree with you Rasobasi420 is nothing than Bullstick. Perhaps the ministry and preaching channels wants more public funding and are pushing to take it from PBS.

I wish I'd known about that vote.

PBS is an anachronism and an organ of left wing politics, just like it's ugly twin NPR.

Both should be defunded.

An utter waste of taxpayer funds.

So you are saying an appreciation of the arts and education is not a good application of federal money?

I dont have a problem with thier Educational programming.

When it comes to political discussion on PBS it is 90% of the time from a liberal point of view. When you do get a conservative on a show its usually 3 liberals beating up on the conservative.

If AM talk radio is unfair then NPR and PBS are equally unfair the difference is tax money deosnt pay for talk radio advertisers do.

It's amazing. I often hear conservatives complaining that there's no wholesome family television. But, when it's there, they take away the funding and give it to war.

Sure, I may not know exactly where the funding will be allocated, but we know where most of the money goes.

Well on the day in question its not so bad but lets try the schedule on Sunday the 22

WNED

Not one of those political shows is right of center or even left of center they are left.

Maybe the best thing PBS could do is just stick with educational programming and forgo politics all together.

WHAAAMbulance I think not, To ignore the obvious liberal bias on PBS and NPR ridiculous.

I actually watch PBS alot since I have my grandkids at my house alot and I would like to get a true conservative viewpoint on there once and while.
