Cognitive Liberation Movement

This is a response to the various Aliens and 2012 posts. Its connected as well to my "They Are From Within" posts: www.abovetopsecret.com...

As I stated before when describing my Phantasmagoria Hypothesis (see They Are From Within) on the nature of Aliens and UFOs, I do not think biological entities are travelling light years across the galaxy just to abduct people, kill animals, and tell people either utopia or apocalypse is just around the corner, specifically on 2012.

Something else entirely is going on. There has been a phenomena that we currently call Aliens and UFOs that has interacted and manipulated humanity for at least thousands of years. It has inspired myths and new religious movements, especially with prophecies of utopia and/or destruction.

These prophecies always fail. Yet the religious movements they inspire continue on and effect human society often on a grand scale. It has occured to me that these may be seeds of conflict being planted.

I have been trying to figure out what would be the motives of the phenomena. Are they toying with us for fun? Do we serve some esoteric purpose? What are the effects of their manipulations?

There are a number of effects. Fear is one. We have an inherent fear of the unknown. Lack of trust and confidence in authority of both religious and political institutions. Confusion is another. Ignorance is one of the worst effects. I can understand that encountering or experiencing the Other can lead one to think that the Other is some ultimate authority or source of knowledge. Its extraordinary but extraordinary does not equal truth.

This 2012 hyperreality ( where the consciousness cannot distiguish between fantasy and reality), must be confronted and exposed. These hyperrealities are imposed without consent. Even worse the humans then perpetuate the hyperreality like some kind of viral meme spreading throughout the collective unconscious.

I propose examining the idea of founding a Cognitive Liberation Movement. The basis being freedom from hyperrealities imposed without consent and dedicated to investigating the nature of actual reality.

In my opinion a stand should be made against false promises and prophecies of utopia and apocalypse. An effort must be made to create a beacon of light in the sea of darkness of UFOlogy and New Age Contactee Cults.

They probably don't travel light years "just to abduct" people. I often hear people make comments about certain sightings like the O'Hare incident for example: "Yea, like Aliens are going to travel trillions of miles to just hover above an airport real quick." Why do people assume that Aliens must immediately leave once they have done something? Isn't it safe to assume that they probably have their own bases here on Earth in the oceans and underground? They probably travel all that distance to stay here for many years for research or whatever else you want to guess that it is they are doing here.

Anyways, I respectfully disagree with your "they are from within" theory. And I also think we already have a Cognitive Liberation Movement, it is called UFOlogy. As far as I am concerned, most UFOlogists try to study reality.

Also, exactly how many people on Earth do you think truly believe that something crazy is going to happen in 2012? Probably not very many when you look at the entire population. If people want to believe "doom" is coming in 2012 then so what? Let them believe it. And once 2012 passes and nothing happens, they will obviously feel stupid...

Most UFOologists ignore the High Strangeness factors and what Jacques Vallee, an astrophysicist and J. Allen Hynek an astrophysicist who worked on Project Bluebook concluded in their research.

Try reading some of their writings. There is definitely something weird going on.

On earth I'm not sure but I would guess probably in the millions. Consider this Christianity started with 12 people or 1. Joseph Smith, L. Ron Hubbard, and Sun Myung Moon are single people who have started flourishing religious movements. Movements like this dont really kick off until after failed predictions and prophecies. Thats what scares me, what happens after 2012.
