Teens charged in plan to shoot, bomb at school

www.cnn.com

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Police on Long Island, New York, said they arrested two teens on Friday on charges of conspiring to attack staff and students at a high school.

Police said the two -- a 15-year-old and 17-year-old who became friends when they worked at a local McDonald\'s -- were arrested after the discovery of a handwritten journal that included threats to shoot students and staff and set off explosions at the school.

Do you all think they would have gone through with this?

based on this :

Police said a search warrant was issued for the 15-year-old's computer, where it was discovered that he'd made attempts on the Internet to obtain weapons, including an Uzi submachine gun and five pounds of black powder explosive.

Id say the 15 year old was certainly willing to go through with it. Thankfully someone was careless and dropped the journal..hell they were careless to keep one. At least this level of carelessness worked out to the benefits of everyone...well accept the two kids.

Yeah I've got a hunch that says the other students probobly weren't making life all that pleasant for these kids. I bet after finding out about this they were quick to reconsider there cruel intentions towards these 2 boys.

Aces, Maybe the other kids were giving them a hard time; that doesn't excuse this behavior. Sorry the two boys were wrong period end of story. Making threats like this is taken very seriously and rightly so given recent events in other schools.

I never said that it excuses their behavior, I was merely pointing out that other children could have been contributing factors. I don't know how you came up with me thinking that this was excusable!

I'm just stating that many kids could have been killed for merely teasing the two boys. Theres a lesson in there. Treat others how you want to be treated.

They have to compete somehow, a simple stabbing or brick through the window doesn't do it anymore it wont get any attention now that people are using explosives and bullets, when was the last time you saw someone on the news for throwing something at a teaching or putting a brick through a window?

No they have to outdo the competition and explosives and bullets look like the perfect way to do that at least according to the news it must be, its in the news every day after all so it has to be the latest way of getting revenge/attention or simply having some fun.
