Draft Al Gore?

I plan on writing Al Gore a letter, as a concerned fellow citizen and lifelong Republican, to implore him to run for president in 2008. He is, by far, the most qualified and fit person to run for president at this time. No other candidate or potential candidate can match his skills and experience. They can't even get near it.

If he picks up a Nobel Prize, which I fully expect, he will be in perfect position to declare his candidacy. And if he is elected, he is uniquely qualified to lead this nation back into greatness.

He can win. By a landslide.

If you feel the same, please comment. I will add these comments to my letter.

I'm sorry, but no matter what your experience is, when you support bad policies, you're a bad man to be voted in.

Name five bad policies Al Gore supports or supported. I'll name five things that make him uniquely qualified to be our next president.

1. He opposed the invasion of Iraq
2. He shepherded the internet into being (public domain)
3. He served in the Vietnam War (unlike so many others who recieve multiple draft deferments)
4. He has brought the very serious issue of global warming to the forefront of debate
5. He is highly respected by most world leaders

I could keep going, but I don't need to.

Five bad policies of ALGORE

1. He opposed the invasion of Iraq
2. He "invented" the internet...I miss the jokes about this one!
3. Global Warming is a myth...Was it humans that caused Global Warming that stopped the Ice Age?
4. He most surely would put an end to the Electoral College...for obvious reasons
5. He is a former loser...in a Previous Presidential race, you can't lose your homestate of Tennessee and ever expect to run for President again. Come on! Your own people who you served as Senator didn't want you as President. Forget Florida! If ALGORE wins his own homestate, he is President in 2000

So did John McCain. And plenty of others. It's easy to be an idiot and serve in a war. In fact, it makes it easier.

Not really. All he's done was spam it and use it for political and monetary gain. He's misrepresented it as a fact, when really it's a just a weak theory.

Additionally, this is why I would NOT vote for him. He supports the Kyoto Protocol.

If this is your reasoning for supporting him, I strongly advise you to learn anything at all about politics.

He gave a blistering speech opposing the war to the Commonwealth Club - fully on the record. He was unequivical in his opposition. That took courage at the time, as the whole 9-11 terror thing was wupped up into such a furor.

Actually, his shepherding of the internet shows he is capable of great forethot and innovation. You and I both should thank him b/c w/out his efforts, the internet and our use of it wouldn't be what it is today.

Who are those others? Its important to name names. I know you're not talking about Deadey Dick Cheney who got FIVE draft deferements, due to his having "other priorities"; and I know you're not talking about Dumbya, who's daddy got him into a coveted ANG spot, only to go AWOL cos he was hot for drugs. he couldn't go to Vietnam cos when he was flying, he was too busy guarding the border between TX and OK.

Its up to Americans to decided who they want to vote for so all I am going to say is that despite the fact I disagree with Gore on the causes of climate change he still has more sense then all the politicians who supported the invasion of Iraq put together. Its worth noting that there aren't any political leaders who I have an platform that I 100% support instead I vote for the party and policy's that I feel the most comfortable with and that I agree the most with.

I don't see Gore running. He thinks the election was stolen from him in 2000 much as he tacitly said last year.

Why would a man who said something like this run again in what he considers a fixed contest?
