john edwards story

hi everyone, i would like to share my story with everyone. It all began with my uncle getting tickets from there daughter and husband. While there at the john edwards show he picks on my uncle to speak. My uncle thought that the message was going to be for him but was for my dad. John edwards said to my uncle i'm sorry for not having a relationship ship with you for all those years and john edwards even brought up a bus that my dad used to drive for work. The wierd thing is my therapist said to me a few days ago that john edwards was recently found out to be a fraud. He used earpieces during his shows. But i email someone from ofspirit.com and they told me it was just a rumour. Wierd huh? His credibility does kind of go up for me, thoughts anyone?

I'm suspicious of him. Spiritualist shills have done this for a long time, they have a way of saying something vague and leading until someone rises to the bait. Then they draw information out and make it seem like they're "getting a message."

South Park did a hilarious send up of Edwards that made more sense to me than thinking he really does this stuff.

But other people feel differently I'm sure.

i know my uncle said that he sounded like our grandpop, and from what i know my uncle didn't give him any information. But sometimes i hope it is true. It confirms my own belief in life after death. I'm totally skeptical of sylia brown though, only the well to do can afford her services. She was also on montell not to long ago, and she brought up a really stupid alien comment, but she wouldn't say who they were here on earth.

For a *spiritualist* to convey a message expressing regret for relationship inadequacies chances are that arrow could hit about 70% of the peoples hearts.

As far as mentioning a bus he drove to work, if you have good computer skills or a staff with such perhaps you could get hints of things like vehicles with a contact in the DMV. Not so far fetched, really.

I am sorry that you sound so hopeful that these likely frauds can somehow ease the pain of the loss of loved ones.

Hope can surely be elusive when you can't completely trust the source.

BTW, it's John Edward. John Edwards is the senator who would be president. I made that mistake myself not too long ago on AbovePolitics.

I did a little digging, because I'm interested in hoaxes and frauds (because I like to debunk. I guess that makes me evil. ). I came up with some explanations for what he does that I would believe over paranormal ability of any kind.

Critics of Edward believe he performs the mentalist technique of cold reading. Choosing the first reading from a two hour tape of edited shows as a sample, magician and debunker James Randi found that just three of twenty three statements made by Edward were confirmed as correct by the audience member being read.

A 2001 Time article suggested that Edward used hot reading on Crossing Over. In another incident, Edward was said to have used foreknowledge to hot read in an interview on the television show Dateline. . . .

Another accusation has been that Edward's accuracy on television is inflated by the editing process. . . .

John Edward has denied ever using foreknowledge, cold or hot reading.

This is far easier for me to swallow than believing a guy can actually talk to dead people. He may even believe he is; people who are accomplished con artists frequently are because they have bought their own crock of something brown and stinky.

You can even go to school to learn to do this, though the Berkeley Psychic Institute claims it teaches people to become psychic. I knew someone who paid $5000 about 15 years ago, in order to take a course there. I knew something was fishy about them when he urged me to go to a free demonstration evening, where they attempted to impress us with mumbo jumbo ceremonies such as "cleaning our auras" by waving their hands theatrically around us, and "demonstrating" knowledge of our past and future lives.

Then they tried to get me to sign up. Not having $5000, and even at that time knowing in my heart I didn't believe this stuff anymore, I turned them down. But I think they believe what they're doing. At least the students did, I didn't meet the director, and the instructors were prior students. It struck me as pyramid-scheme cultish.

It's not like anybody has anyway of disproving that their aura wasn't cleansed, or can verify their past and future lives. They just open up their imagination and their people-reading skills and tell a story.

And I think John Edward is just one of many such deluded hucksters.

I watched "Crossing Over" before, sometimes he is really impressive, and other times I do feel like he was just fishing. Its possible though that he does have plants in the audience sometimes, but I don't know.

At times he conveys some sort of talent but then again he also gets way off track.

But I can say with certainty that I have a similar problem.

I recently discovered that I can see 'things'...
At first I thought it was only spirits, but it also turned out i could remote view (im not the best at it..ive been looking tips and advice here on ATS)

Im putting my neck on the chopping block telling you guys this...im going to get people throwing straight jackets at me!!



But im not sure how it works for John Edward...but for me I get this strange feeling like (this is so hard to explain) like my insides are inflating.
But this only happens when i sense 'someone/something around me.
Then I get mental images....which is kind of like someone showing me a flash card for two seconds and I have to memorise everything/details that I have just seen...bizarre yes I know.

Im not sure if you guys know kleverone..hes on ATS quite often, but he had a problem with his son not long ago.
I got an image of what I thought might be his son's imaginary friend
So I told him....and he said that I had just described his wife and his occupation.

Ive had other things Ive 'seen' but the glitch is this...I dont know how it functions its not 'on' all the time..and I dont try and fill gaps to make sense of the story...by doing that youve tainted the image...so i tell people exactly what I see, I dont try and make sense of it all which if you think about is kind of useless

Dont trust the man.. He does what is called a cold reading!! Anyone can do what he does.. Do not waste time with this man. Edwards is a scam, fraud.. On the level of Silva Brown.. ACK !!!

Theres many many threads on here about Edwards, seems that everyone mostly agrees that he is a fraud. And even worse he preys on peoples issues with lost ones.. I for one have lost people, they are gone. We move on with our lifes. Then you get Twisted people like Edwards manipulating you into thinking he is some magical Figure, when the reality is he is a doushbag, that preys on peoples weakness and uses them for his own agenda. He is no more creditable than Micky mouse as a medium IMO.. Anyone else want to back me up on this?

I was watcing this show which did a gag about john edward..

This who looked like John Edward was talking to the crowd as he does and he pulls up a guy and he says....
"you have an uncle about 6'6 tall?"
the guy in the audience replies "nope..my uncle was a circus midget"
john edward imposter "so yes im right..hed be about 6'6 tall if he were standing on a ladder..so i just wanted you to confirm that.....does your uncle have an arm?"
audience member "yeah..thats right he has two"
john edward "just needed you to confirm what im talking about..."

Heres a little fact to back up my harsh words about Edwards..
I seriously dont like the guy. He makes me sick to my stomach honestly..

According to Edward's autobiography, he did not know that the producers had chosen the victims' families to appear on the show. Steve Rosenberg, president of domestic television at Studios USA the company that distributes Edwards' program had tentatively scheduled the program(s) to air during the November sweeps period, but news of the taping sparked a national outcry. Both Sci Fi and the Crossing Over with John Edward production office were flooded with phone calls and e-mail, some expressing outrage at the exploitation of the national tragedy, others at what they perceived as extreme tastelessness in search of ratings. This guy really finished himself off.. There was once a time when I lost my wife I tried to contact him.. Thats when I found out first hand what a joke he really is, and how horrid people can be about money, and the things they will say just to get it..




John Edwards will keep on taking peoples money as long as people support him and go to his shows. I see more and more people getting fooled everyday. If I was a wicked vile person I would be able to come up with some cold readings and make people think I had some great power, but I have something called real compassion for people. Let the dead lie in peace!!! They are gone guys, Im sorry, I have the most compassion a person could have, I lost someone so important to me, and I was lost and confused, and in a place in my life where I was very easly to manipulate, but I still saw threw it all in time...

I never trusted the guy. For one thing, he talks way too much. He almost acts like he's nervous. And... I don't know... he just never struck me as genuine.
