Think about it, if you were on that plane and you were about to rush the cockpit, would you say "Let's go" or "Let's roll"?

Peace

I think the actual quote was "roll it", due to the fact that they were using the drinks trolley to get the cockpit door open.

I may be wrong though.

The phrase "Let's roll" has been in use since long before both Transformers and 9-11. It is a common phrase which I and friends would not find out of place in almost any situation. It is akin to saying, "Let's go" or, "Let's head out."

That said, I am a fairly big Transformers fan. I haven't seen the film yet, but plan to soon. I would like to hope that "Transform and roll out" was used at some point in the film, but that's just personal bias because it was used more often than other variations on the original 1980s TV series. Prime did indeed say "Let's roll," "Roll for it," "Let's roll for it," and possibly other unrecalled variations on the phrase in the original series, as I recall.

Lets Roll is a catchphrase which has been used since the 1950s. It was from a TV cop series Adam-12 and Dragnet. It has been used in tons of movies over the years, Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Transformers cartoon, etc. The phrase was in wide use before 911.

See, this worries me.

People actually trying to find hidden meanings for conspiracies in the most innocent and meaningless ways!

Oh! My lava lamp sent two, long peices of lava! World Trade Center conspiracy in lava lamps!! ARRG!!!!! *falls to floor, frothing at the mouth*

Optimus Prime always said "Let's Roll" in the Transformers cartoons, and even the comic books. "Let's Roll" is just a really cool sounding phrase, and, since kids like cools stuff, the designers of the comic put a line in there that would sound cool.

Not everything is a conspiracy related. You actually sound kind of paranoid.

Just a quick note...This movie kicked ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Prime always said "Auto-bots (transform) and or roll out". Flight 93 has nothing to do with this movie.

I was and am a pretty big cartoon fan, and the transformers was one of them. I saw the movie yesterday. Parts of it I though were real cool, and parts were just stupid. I don't think it has anything to do with the NWO. One thing did stick with me though. When prim was talking to the other auto bots, "all intelligent, sentient beings deserve to have freedom." Yes many of you could make a conspiracy out of that, but I don't think it has anything to do with the NWO.

i still think that plane was shot down by a missle. i find the story of heroism too predicatable given the results and findings of other 9/11 atrocities.

When did using the phrase "let's roll" become a homage to the 9/11 flight? I used "lets roll" before 9/11, and I continue to use it after. I say "BAH!" to this whole topic.

However, if you're looking for a good "sound off" topic, I think your idea about the whole Spielberg/NWO angle would be a hoot to listen to.

In other words...tell me more.

Also, this movie was directed by Michael Bay. MICHAEL BAY PEOPLE! I guarantee if there is a giant Hollywood NWO conspiracy, he is THE LAST guy that would be invited to be part of it. I mean, come on, the guy centered an entire sequence around busty chick on her knees screaming for no reason other than to have cleavage in the shot when Ironhide did that cool slow-mo transformer spin in the air thing. NWO members don't do that...I think it's in the bylaws or something.

Let me break this down another way then. As we've found out as this thread has gone along is that Optimus had different phrases that he said in the cartoon. Now, the one I think most fans would have wanted to hear him say would be "Autobots.......transform and roll out". Agree or disagree? BTW, not once in the movie does OP tell the others to "Transform", which kinda sucked. So back to what I was saying, Bay and Spielberg, and yes if you think Spielberg had no input you're crazy, they have all these phrases to choose from. Well, wouldn't you know it, they pick one that's fresh in all of our minds from 9/11.

So, which would you have rather Optimus said, and which one did they choose?

Peace

He also referred to lubricating on humans multiple times. Of all the innuendoes to refer to urinating, why did they choose that one? Huh, huh?

It's got NWO written all over it.

I don't ever remember Optimus Prime saying "Autobots........let's roll" in the cartoon, but wouldn't you know it that NWO shill Steven Speilberg is involved in another movie where 9/11 comes in to play in a back-handed sort of way. I guess the NWO really needs to make sure they get the little kiddies indoctrinated into the whole terrorism thing. I'm sure most astute observers caught the last shot of Spielberg's movie Munich when the camera stopped on the Twin Towers and the credits started rolling.

BTW, if my memory serves me correct, OP always said "Autobots......transform and roll out!".

Peace

Dr. Love,

That is the most idiotic thing I have heard in a while. It's a movie and it's based on a cartoon from the 80's, plain and simple. I'm glad I wasn't sitting next to you in the theatre when I watched it...

That's what the Skunkworks forum is for.

I wish it had been you sitting next to me rather than that loudmouth kid who kept repeating everything they said on the screen. But who knows, maybe that was you!

Peace

He did indeed say several of those variants. If you need a reference, in S01E03 (Season 1, Episode 3) of the original cartoon, Prime does say "Let's Roll".

It doesn't; it's his classic motto from his tech specs. And I'm pretty sure it goes "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings"(assuming it went exactly like his tech specs; I can't remember if it did or not).

Also, before anyone suggests it, I seriously doubt that Optimus Prime is a reptilian.

By the way, why does there seem to be a large amount of TF fans on here? I've noticed that a whole lot of people who replied to this topic said they were TF fans(myself included; I'm a life-long TF fan). Perhaps the sci fi aspects(and the "cover-up" aspects) have something to do with it....

Impostrous. optimus prime has always said that, I think he said that in a recent transformers cartoon as well. it really has no relation to flight 93. but interesting observation.
