Heat?
Its been topping 115 here in Vegas all week... don't talk to me about heat LOL

At the time I thought it was a sign...Perhaps?

Is not a "sign" something that speaks to you personally at a time when you are receptive? Just a thought

The Universe talks to us in mysterious ways.. we merely need to learn to listen.

I assume you mean me then….

Please point to me where I said it was supernatural? And yes it can be explained... BUT does everything HAVE to be explained? Can we not just look a picture and enjoy it? That is why I made the comment about "skeptics" So busy trying to debunk everything, but can't take a moment to just feel...

Yeah, it’s a great picture, but that changes nothing. I can reverse what you say and throw it right back at you, “Why does anything that looks neat immediately have to be paranormal?”

Maybe I enjoyed researching and learning something new, a new phenomenon which I have never seen before, as much as I enjoy looking at the photo.

The FEELING that this image instills in your subconsciousness, nothing more... the ability to appreciate an artistic phenomena of Nature...

It is being presented as a supernatural event, so the supernatural part of it requires analysis. If it was just being presented as a neat picture to look at, but not supernatural in origin, then it should be under the title “Incredible Picture” and in the BTS section.

When I'm out on a boat in a low-lying fog, I see the 'Glory' often. It depends on the height of the fog blanket over the water. As the sun shines through the fog behind me, my shadow is projected to the front and the direct rays around my shadow create a bright circle. If the fog droplets are fat enough, they create a prismatic rainbow effect.

It's a nice effect but mesmerizing and dangerous if it takes your attention away from other boats which may be hidden in the fog.

There's always that possible big deadhead too.

LOL didn't say it was paranormal either

Now see? That is what its all about! You saw, you enjoyed and you learned something new... can't ask for more than that.

Okay okay ya got me... but then Mike posted this one
mine where in the other threads... To be honest I only noticed now this was in the paranormal thread DOH

How many here climb mountains to be able to experience this?

You're confusing yourself zorgon. It was posted here with the title 'Buddha' Apparition Appears On Mountaintop. Which is clearly isn't. I showed relevant links on page 1 showing how it can be naturally explained.

Debunking or not debunking...'skeptics' as you put it, posted here to inform the thread starter that it is not Buddha, but in fact a natural phenomenon. I don't wear a 'I'M A SKEPTIC AND I WANT TO RUIN YOUR LOVELY PICTURE' badge. I, as well as many others just wanted to correct the thread starter on what he perceived to be Buddha.

So, you're basically saying, that it being a lovely image (which it is - no doubting that) we should let people believe it's the image of Buddha, when it clearly isn't? So all orbs are real because the look nice, and are never dust or bugs! And all mists/images of ghosts shouldn't be analyzed more closely! We should leave everything just because it looks nice. You should really consider going to belowtopsecret instead, as in this part of the forum the aim is to debunk and prove that paranormal exists, not just sit back and admire pictures. Join a photography club or something.

The picture is beautifull and wonderfull - a joy to behold. But it was posted here, in the paranormal section, saying that it was Buddha. I, like many others, just said that it wasn't. That's hardly being skeptical, it's just being honest and truthfull.

"BUT does everything HAVE to be explained? Can we not just look a picture and enjoy it?"

Well it seems that we can't explain it no. From now on, everything in the paranormal section should be left well alone by people who want to find out the truth, as it seems shedding light on activities to prove that they are in fact of natural cause is frowned upon. I'd like to point out that that previous sentence was rather sarcastic, and in fact your way of thinking here is a minority. Thank god.

I think and take what you have said as a complete mockery of finding out the truth of the paranormal. In fact it's so degrading to everyone that's interested in the field. Because the picture is nice, we can't prove it to be of natural causes? Really...just WTF!?

Anyone have any more Buddha photos on mountain tops? I want to praise the lord and worship it every morning!

Oh one thing I did think after I posted:

"Wasn't Buddha fat?" like didn't he have a rather big belly? This guy is just way too thin to be Buddha.

I didn't think of Buddha, I just thought it was some celestial being dropping by to say howdy !

Hmmm... Looks interesting. Do you have any pics that you can post here on ATS?

Arwan, I would like to correct you here. This is what I said in my opening post...

Here's a photograph which purports to be the shadow of Buddha in a rainbow! I think it's all a play of light and shadow. Looks interesting anyway!

It was those Chinese tourists who said it was the Buddha as mentioned here...

www.chinadaily.com.cn...

Now the point is that according to the report, the 'apparition' lasted for more than an hour. How come? That's what needs to be explained!

Cheers!

My problem as always with these things is as follows:

If in India would be a Hindi god.

In the West depending where, it would be Jesus or Virgin Mary.

and every religion would interpret differently, some will claim its an alien and historically would be a giant or old god - norse/greek/roman etc - perhaps this is where some of these gods from.

Exactly, to me it is Batman, oh now it is Spiderman.

They never grow up. The problem is not with the news and the reporter, but it is with the people who interpret it.
And religious personsare truly mentally sick persons.

I think it is Bigfoot.
