Interesting Republican ticket.

Assuming Bush wins the 04 election, which most people are still in the denial of possibility, who here would think that a good Republican ticket(for 08) would be Rice and Powell? I'm pretty sure that even the dems wouldn't dislike that one too much. They're both fairly moderate(centrist/right vote), both black(Black vote, minority vote), and Rice is a woman.(womens vote) I think it's a genious idea, because I'm almost positive that Hillary is running in 08. And I think Rice should be the President, and Powell the VP.(he didn't rule that one out yet, right)

Just some thinking. Colonel, who do you think the dems will run, and what do you think about a Rice-Powell ticket? I think it'd be a huge step forward in politics, equality, and probably bring a whole new group of intelligent people to the table of the president. It's also take away much of the racist/segregationist view of the Republicans.

Listen, I would never vote for either of these two stepinfetchits. They are the pawns of the repugnant party.

That's great Colonel. What did I tell you about your sense of humor. Well, you can believe all you want that he will be elected. I haven't ruled out the possiblity of Dean being elected, but I think it's a slim one.

He represents a whole new line of democrats. I think that just by winning the ticket, he may divide the democratic party down the middle.(or close to the middle) There would then be a Dean(leftist/libertarian/new age dems) party, and an older, more centrist party. This would really hurt the democrats chances of winning an election for a long while.(until they straightened things out) If that happened, many conservatives would be overjoyed, but not me. I believe the system needs balance and moderation. A lop-sided system just leads you to a dictatorship, either way.(left or right, socialism or facism)

No sane person can want this, that's why I don't like Dean. I think he may pose a threat to our system.

As for Rice and Powell being pawns, who knows. I would love to see a black woman become president though.

It's pretty much a given that Bush will be re-elected....but I don't see a Rice/Powell ticket in the future....

Where do you make this stuff up. You're nbot even a dem and you think you know Dems. Dean and Kucinich supporters are the grass roots of the Democratic party---the core. The "centrist" dems are just the DLC which are a few big wigs in DC. That's it. There is no split b/c we are ALL fed up with the current sell out leadership of Daschle, Gephardt, and Lieberman.
