5 foot Penguins!

I did have to have a giggle when i thought about a 5 foot penguin,



But news coming out this week states the in fact 5 foot penguins may have roamed around Puru more than 40 million years ago,

Which brings up the thoughts that they where hear earlyier than scientists thought by almost 10 million years,


2 types where said to have been found,

National Academy of Sciences that they have found remains of two types of penguin in Peru that date to 40 million years ago.

One of them was a 5-foot giant with a long sharp beak.

And the 2nd,

The second new species - Perudyptes devriesi - was approximately the same size as a living King Penguin - 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall - and represents a very early part of penguin evolutionary history, the researchers said.

LMHO, I went to walMart after posting last time and there really was a 5 foot penguin statue outside!!! I laughed really hard and figured it must be a tribute!

Emperor Penguins stand four feet tall in this day and age.

Yeah maybe, but a little fact that hasn't gotten much media attention is that even the modern day peguins stink big time, can you imagine what a colony of these beasts would smell like?
