Not exactly sure what this is but have a good idea. It is a really interesting read and goes into the possable dangers if used for "neuroweapons".
Was hoping a few of you may be better able to explain it.
What ever it may be, I now it is not exactly good.
Mostly because of the potential abuse and misuse of what it be done.

The United States Department of Defense (DOD) may marshal significant resources--as it did during the 1941 to 1946 Manhattan Project—to drive ECN research, development and testing. DOD is the only entity in the United States with the capability to fully fund ECN programs.

That tells me it has a military purpose, support of my opinion that it is not good.

One last quote, before leaveing the thread to those who have a better understanding than myself. As I don't want to confuse things, through ignorance.

New gear is required to help humanity manage that which is the source of its complexity: brain-human behavior relationships.

“We are at a crossroads of human existence: We possess the technical knowledge required to provide for the material needs of all of humanity without systematic plunder and extermination of others: yet, systematic plunder and genocidal extermination continue to thrive.”
“We used to wonder where war lived, what it was that made it so vile. And now we realize that we know where it lives, that it is inside ourselves.”

There's lots of threads about it just in the Technology forum, but since there's so many threads, it's easy to miss any one of them.

I found this gem recently.

The use of AI to better understand an adversary is shaping up to be one of the most promising and fascinating aspects of this tool. This will enable faster, real-time gathering of information, detecting patterns, mapping out communication networks, and even better understanding of how the enemy ‘feels,’ in terms of its morale, by analyzing its language on social media and other platforms. These new AI capabilities amount to intelligence gathering 2.0.

This type of analysis can be extended to both military communications and social media activities by civilians in adversarial states, to better understand a nation’s will to fight based on societal trends on any given day. The will to fight remains the most critical factor in human warfare, and being able to identify when this will decrease, in real time, could prove enormously beneficial for decision-makers in the civilian and military worlds.

This is probably the most tame application for AI militaries are working on getting to the field. Since this thread was created, defense spending on AI has dramatically increased. I have also found a number of references from official personnel that the greatest threat from AI is the fully autonomous sort that carries weapons platforms and requires no human greenlight to engage with force.

There was recently a lawsuit filed in dubious manner against pretty much the whole of big tech, social media, and politicians for somehow releasing weapons-grade AI irresponsibly, but the suit was thrown out due to inaction of the plaintiff.

As for the transhumanism, surely you know about Neuralink and the "WOKE Studios"-designed surgical robot that can reportedly install a brain implant with the ease of LASIKS eye surgery. If I was a commander and knew that weaponized drone swarms are the future of military weaponry, then I would want soldiers to be able to control swarms with brain implants. The tech is already here.

Neuralink surgical robot

Note how the story places the robot as a "second" option from the human surgeon.

We should be keeping a close eye on the less scrupulous countries deploying weaponized autonomous AI robots. I believe there are some reports of such in Israel, Pakistan, and China, but there is little info and I am out of time.
