I heard on the news about the new massive dino bird that was discovered in Bejing, and i was wondering to myself last night, could there be a link between it and the creature we know today as the thunder bird?
I was thinking, what if the dino bird evolved? and became the hugely sized bird people see in our day and age, the thunder bird.

This is just a thought, i want to hear what you guys think.

Please update with photographs of the bird you speculate as the "thunderbird". Also, evolutionary backing is hard without significant DNA testing.

Very possible, but it would need good reason to evolve, and I dont see why this dinobird would

I think the discussion might get off the ground with some linky links...
It's a Bird, It's a Dinosaur, It's a Mystery
The golden age of dinosaurs
China finds new species of big, bird-like dinosaur

Personally I don't see the relation between the supposed Thunderbird and this dinosaur, but still, the discovery is very interesting, seeing that there's some confusion over the species of the animal. They're not sure if it's a bird or a dinosaur...

Well, first of all, the "dino birds" didn't fly.

The debate will go on for a while whether they are birds or dinos. Which came first? Was flight developed ground up or trees down? Were the wings for flying or gliding? Were the feathers for warmth?

No relation to whatever a thunderbird might be, though.
