ATS/BTS has such a wide audience. We have Mystics, Shamans, Witches, Psychics, Magicians, and the whole lot.

What I'm asking is, "What do you do, and how do you do it?"

For example. if member WXYZ123 responds he could say

"I'm a psychic, I have a level of clairvoyance. I use a pendulum and a scrying mirror to help me interpret my visions... I use them for.."

Well, you get the idea. In case you're still not sure what I'm asking, wait for my reply. This thread was inspired by nisurastar's thread over in the predictions section.

I consider myself a mystic.

I study kabbalah, yoga, qigong, shamanism, and western occultism. Being a martial artist first and foremost, I practice the esoteric arts in a very serious manner.

For me, the most important thing is an emphasis on the basics. Meditation, Virtue, Deep Breathing, Mind Expansion,Awareness, and Visualization are cornerstones of my practice. I've done astral projection, remote viewing, self-hynosis, the whole line.

Personally, I do not really care for using tools in my practice. I do possess a number of tibetan ritual objects that I've purchased along the way, but rarely if ever do I use them for anything.

My main goal is self-mastery. I've developed a system around my practice, that originally was designed to help me get more out of my life. I began to apply these principles to various parts of my life, and noticed that they quickly began to work out better for me. I try to apply these principles to everything I can think of. Knowledge is nothing if not practical, practical knowledge is worthless if not applied.

I've had reiki attunements that I now somewhat regret. I simply do not use it. I was lucky to be attuned by experts. Some people nowadays are being attuned to entities, being bonded at a very deep level to things they never bargained for. Some people have visions of angels that offer a new kind of healing energy, however, the people are decieved into believeing these are angels, when in fact they are something much different and spreading an energy they do not understand.

As a side note, do not get involved in anything you do not understand the consequences of. Do not engage in any mystical practice, unless you are willing to seriously study it. If you fool around with forces you shouldn't take lightly, you'll be in for a world of hurt.

I continue my study with experts when it is in my financial means to attend a wrokshop or take classes. There are a few people I'm eyeing up and hope to spend some time studying with in the next few years.

I look forward to see what other types of people we have lurking about in these forums.

As if I could keep my hands off a thread quasi inspired by muah. It is the polite thing to do. haha

I am a witch. This title means many to many people, but I define myself as someone who worships nature (nature is afterall the veneration of Gods creativity, so through nature, I know God.) the mysteries are endlessly wonderous. I practice spellcraft. Many people have wrong perceptons as to how it works. The basis of which are in quantum mechanics and physics, which is often overlooked.

All practices I do revolve around my beleifs, my ultimate goal is to become attuned to the rhythms of the universe. When people stop working against the waves of energy that is life, new possibilities emerge. Being attune is when we experience divine moments like true meditation, clairavoyance, astral projection, enlightenment. ect.

my practice has led me to have many bizzare experiences. Ive experienced a little bit of everything I suppose. In small doses. Ive had dreams where im given messages. But those are for a different post I suppose. The energy of God (I dont know how else to describe it) filling my body durring meditation. When I cast circle for spellwork, I often feel the presence of spirits, good and bad. It is unnerving to enter my practice, knowing I am making myself vulnerable to the forces, especially those that wish harm. The only experience I have everyday without invoking it or coming unbidden is my empathy. That is a constant.

as Dawkins put it, I'm a de facto atheist. i cant disprove god, so i can't say god doesn't exist, just as i cant disprove a flying spaghetti monster isn't real. so you could say I'm agnostic, believing in god as much as believing in a flying spaghetti monster.

I'm a Christian...

I suppose I'm a bit more liberal than most Christians, as I agree with Evolution and reject many parts of the Old Testament as oral tradition mistaken for the word of God. Once an atheist myself, I came into Christianity kicking and screaming. Religious debates are my passion, and I learn more from them than anything else here on ATS. My church also holds debates, and I love watching those too. Since I was once atheistic, I know what arguments do and do not work against atheists.

Nice to meet you, Grey Swordsman. My name is the B1ue Soldier.

One thing I do is channel what is referred to as reiki energy. I certainly hope I'm not bonded to a questionable entity, as I've never knowingly been attuned by a reiki master in the physical plane.

Apparently I've been able to do this for a much longer time than I've been aware of it. I've used it to help people, if they were sick or in distress, but since reading up about reiki I've pulled back from that, unsure about the ethics. I still use it to help sick animals. It works either hands-on, through breathing, or long distance visualization.

I almost put this post in your thread Your Opposition [ another really good one by TGS if anyone hasn't checked it out ] in response to the guy talking about his experience helping out with the stalled car. And it also relates to the Law of Attraction, as follows:

Now the only way I've been using it with humans is as a general broadcasting system, taking in universal energy and beaming it out, usually from my heart center. It makes me feel really good and seems to have a positive effect on those around me. And as a bonus, good things come to me, even if I haven't asked for any specific want or need to be fulfilled.

I'm a philosopher. I attempt to understand the presuppositions and assumptions of other perspectives in a hope to understanding that perspective. The work of Wittgenstein (the guy in my avatar), Spinoza, Nietzsche, and Buddha have been the most influential on me.
