Reid Labels General Pace Incompetent

www.politico.com

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called Marine Gen. Peter Pace, the outgoing chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, "incompetent" during an interview Tuesday with a group of liberal bloggers, a comment that was never reported.

Reid made similar disparaging remarks about Army Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, said several sources familiar with the interview.

This is but the latest example of how Reid, under pressure from liberal activists to do more to stop the war, is going on the attack against President Bush and his military leaders in anticipation of a September showdown to end U.S. involvement in Iraq, according to Democratic senators and aides.

Harry Reid should be ashamed of himself. His own ratings are falling - latest polls show him at 19% favorable, and he is the Senate leader of the group that has come to be known as the Do Nothing Congress. Now he attacks both Peter Pace and Devid Petraeus with disparaging comments.

I hope that this does not leak back to our troops in the field. It could damage morale among those on the battlefield.

I consider publically attacking military leaders during a war to be treasonous. If you wanna be against the war, that's fine, but don't attack the leaders while boots are on the ground. Reid should be locked up for a few months. Maybe that would knock him off his high horse.

It not the first time he has resorted to personal remarks.

Reid made headlines in May 2005 when he said of George W. Bush, "The man's father is a wonderful human being. I think this guy is a loser." Reid later apologized for these comments. Reid also called Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas an "embarrassment" and referred to Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan as a "political hack." source

Which is it Harry Reid, listen to the Generals, or bash them to fit your anti-American agenda?

www.prnewswire.com.../www/story/01-19-2007/0004509200&EDATE

quote from Harry Reid when he was responding to the State of the Union Address.

With that vote, our hope -- our prayer
-- is that this President will finally listen. Listen to the Generals.
Listen to the Iraq Study Group. Listen to the American people. And listen
to a bipartisan Congress.

Way to support our troops Harry.
