Police probe Facebook"Babykiller" Vigilanties

This heart breaking story happened in my city a few months ago when the body of a newborn was found just off a walking trail by 2 teenagers.An Investigation led to the identity of the mother.At this time I do not Know if the woman has mental problems or substance abuse problems.However the idea of a group of over 200 people threatening her is scary and wrong.While I obviously feel abandoning her baby was a horrific thing to do, threatening her is not the right form of justice here.Apparently lynch mobbing never went out with the old west. here is the link to the story.I may add that this is from the Toronto Star a few hundred miles away and not in our local newspaper. www.thestar.com...

People are quick to act in situations like this. I think this sort of mob rule does nothing but damage. Wait it out and hear both sites of the story (hers and the defense) before you need to flame her and pelt her down to the ground. If only these people could be so passionate with everything in their lives.

Update- it is now also being reported in our local paper.Apparently the Facebook group was started by a woman from St.Catherines who went to school with the accused in North Bay. A little bit revengeful I think. Here's the link-www.nugget.ca...
