Judge Suing Dry Cleaner Cries Over Pants

www.cbsnews.com

(AP) A judge had to leave the courtroom with tears running down his face Tuesday after recalling the lost pair of trousers that led to his $54 million lawsuit against a dry cleaner.

Administrative law judge Roy L. Pearson had argued earlier in his opening statement that he is acting in the interest of all city residents against poor business practices. Defense attorneys called his claim "outlandish."

This man is a judge himself, how many frivolous cases must he himself must have sat through, and he thinks this, suing a dry cleaner for $54 million dollars over a lost pair of pants is justified.

What a show he's putting on, crying in the courtroom.

"Acting in the interest of all city residents against poor business practices", bah humbug. Acting in the interest of GREED!

If he wins and gives that money to the city, then maybe he was doing it for the city residents who suffered at the hands of this bad, bad, dry cleaner with poor business practices, but if he wins and keeps the money, he did it because of greed.

I hope the dry cleaners counter sue after he loses this case and win $54 million!

I hope he at least loses his job as a judge for this fiasco and abuse of the legal system!

This is the best part of the article explaining what led to him crying in court.

Pearson also called himself as a witness, saying his problems began in May 2005 when he brought in several suits for alterations. A pair of pants from a blue and maroon suit was missing when he requested it two days later. He said Soo Chung tried to give him a pair of charcoal gray pants.

As Pearson explained that those weren't the pants for the suit, he choked up and left the courtroom crying after asking Bartnoff for a break.

This is a grown man and a judge, I thought you had to be of sound mind to sit on the bench. I could see a 5 year old crying because he lost his favorite pair of pants, but this is ridiculous!
