It is well known that there is a high incidence of Ufo's seen near or prior to the crash of jets and commerical planes. Whether the ufos were the cause of these crashes is still under question, however it is hypothesized that as Ufo's may interefere with the EMF field, this may effect sensitive navigation and propulsion equipment on a plane or jet - temporarily stalling the plane and possibly leading to crashes if not restabilized. Debunkers argue that the ufos are actually just birds which get sucked into the planes engines and cause mechanical failure. - However many pilots dispute this as sightings report actual brightly lit unidentified craft. The following videos provide great examples of this

This is interesting. However, the failure of navigation systems really wouldn't cause an aircraft to crash. All commercial aircraft as well as most small planes would still retain the ability for basic navigation in zero visibility even with a complete electrical failure. The attitude indicator and heading indicator are gyroscopic instruments driven by a mechanical vacuum pump. The altimeter, vertical speed indicator and airspeed indicator are all reliant on outside air pressure.

As far as engine failures, I guess I'm not sure what strong EM fields might do. It's possible. But based on the amount of reports we see where pilots have UFO's following them, etc, it seems unlikely to me that UFO's would account for many aircraft crashes, if at all.

thats a good theory. but maybe its just the military trying their methods out of bringing down some planes...

The MOD's Condign Report discusses the hazards to Air Traffic posed by UAP. The report also mentions that the Russians reported losing 3 Jets in 40 interception cases.

In the book beyond top secret, Timothy good claims that many incidents of military aircraft crashing are due to them trying to intercept UFOs, resulting in them being shot down by the UFO.

Are there cases of civilian craft crashing due to UFOs?

I'm not an avionics expert, by any means, but aren't the controls of most modern jets computerized? I understand that the actual movement is hydraulic, but do not electric motors and pumps provide the force? I just can't see a jumbo jet being turned by a pilot applying his own force to a rudder.
