Builders in Green Zone already insurgent targets

When the idea of building a new US embassy in Baghdad was first mooted by the American administration in the aftermath of the invasion of Iraq, there seemed to be a grandiose logic to it.

The compound, by the side of the Tigris, would be a statement of President Bush's intent to expand democracy through the Middle East. Yesterday, however, the entire project was under fresh scrutiny as new details emerged of its cost and scale.

Rising from the dust of the city's Green Zone it is destined, at $592m (£300m), to become the biggest and most expensive US embassy on earth when it opens in September.

All I can say, is who will be making the most money, from this project?
You only need to look at the firms in Baghdad, and the Greenzone to understand which individual, once he has the opportunity to be removed as vice president, will continue his work with halliburton.

Its like a cancerous face mole, this small compound scattering all over the baaron middle east, destroying the men who go near it....

And its going to be attacked, constantly.... morale of troops whom are meant to occupy this corporate prison during there early years will be in fear of retaliation, for a crime its nation committed.

Subject to the outcome of the 2008 presidential election the US embassy in Baghdad could be completely just in time to oversee a US withdrawl from Iraq. The US embassy could well be at the heart of scenes that make the fall of Saigon look like a Sunday picnic in the park.
