Berger, Gorelick and Hamilton -The Foxes in the Hen House

Here's an interesting find...

The 9/11 Commission wasn't satisfied with just publishing their white-wash of 9/11. They followed up their status as 9/11 Commissioners by continuing on as the 9/11 Public Disclosure Project.

The key difference between the 9/11 Commission and the 9/11 Public Disclosure Project is that the 9/11 PDP is looking forward at how to change the CIA and FBI rather than backward at how 9/11 happened.

In 2005 the 9/11 PDP had a conference on FBI and CIA reform. The opening speaker for this conference was none other than former 9/11 Commissioner, and author of the infamous "wall" memo, Jamie Gorelick. Gorelick was a top official in the Clinton adminsitration who was linked to not only the "wall" memo which prevented the sharing of intelligence between agencies, but also linked to the cover-up of the TWA Flight 800 investigation.

In any event, the 9/11 PDP held this conference on FBI and CIA reform. Running the conference was former co-Chair of the 9/11 Commission, Lee Hamilton. Hamilton is also the head of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Hamilton offered the Wilson Center as the location for the FBI and CIA reform conference.

Now what makes this interesting is that while Hamilton was busy hosting this conference on FBI and CIA reform, and while he was a member of the board of the ironically named 9/11 Public Discloser Project, he was at the same time employed as a senior advisor at Sandy Berger's Stonebridge consulting firm.

(For those of you who haven't followed this story closely, Sandy Berger pled guilty to stealing and destroying top secret documents from the National Archives in advance of his testimony in front of Lee Hamilton and Jamie Gorelick while they sat as commissioners of the 9/11 Commission.)

So how does Lee Hamilton reconcile being on the board of the 9/11 Public Disclosure Project while being on Sandy Berger's payroll? How does Jamie Gorelick have any "moral authority" to lead conferences on FBI and CIA reform when it was Gorelick who was instrumental in the "wall" that was built to keep information from flowing between the CIA and FBI? How can Gorelick and Hamilton profess to be part of 9/11 Public Disclosure and at the same time have any affiliation with Sandy Berger, who made sure the public will never learn what was contained in the documents he destroyed?

Does it bother anybody else that these three, Berger, Hamilton, and Gorelick, continued to be in the middle of things like reforming the FBI and CIA?


OH... I almost forgot the most important part.... who do you think paid the bills for the 9/11 Public Disclosure Project? Is it really a surprise that it was David Rockefeller?

To be fair, Rockefeller only partially funded this project. It was also funded by the Carnegie Corporation.

And who is the chairman of the Carnegie Corporation? How about Thomas Kean, the other co-Chair of the 9/11 Commission. And who else is on the board of the Carnegie Corporation?

And who is president of the Carnegie Foundation? Vartan Gregorian, an Iranian national, and author of the book, "Islam: A Mosaic, not A Monolith."

So the end result is the 9/11 Public Discolure Project is headed by Lee Hamilton, an employee of Sandy Berger. Jamie Gorelick led their conference on reforming the FBI and CIA. And the whole project is being funded by David Rockefeller, along with people from Boeing, a former Clinton cabinet member, a senior advisor to the Carlyle Group, a member of the Spanish Parliment, the President of the NY Times, and an Iranian muslim.

Do you really think these people can be trusted to tell the public the full and unbiased truth about 9/11??

Is it that nobody cares about these behind closed doors alliances relating the the 9/11 conspiracy to cover-up the truth, or is it that nobody cares because the people involved in this 9/11 conspiracy are mostly left-leaning Democrats?

I guess it's not as much fun connecting the dots with these *real* conspiracies because of the picture that becomes clear -the Democrats were at least as involved as the Republicans, if not moreso, in covering up the truth about 9/11.

Nick, I think it’s less to do with the fact that this sort of apparent corruption involves both parties as the reality that we are, ultimately, impotent.

To whom do we turn with this information?

I fear that we will respond in the same way if we uncover proof about government (or government agency) complicity in 9/11.

Should we not at least acknowledge a third force? Those who don't favor either political party and don't trust government. Clearly both parties are colluding to deceive the American public. Point the Democrats have voted to continue to fund the war w/o timetables contrary to public opinion. What have the Democrats done to stop the Bush administration? Nothing, so it really isn't R v D it more us v them. Political corruption of all parties is quite apparent, n'est pas?

It's a little bit disillusioning sometimes to look into the soul of the "Truth Movement." A lot of times I get the impression that it's really the "Bash America, Bash Bush, and Bash the Republicans" movement, and that 9/11 is being used as the latest stick.

Turning the spotlight of scrutiny on their supposed Democratic allies does not fit with the agenda of many people who are using 9/11 simply as a way to attack the neocons. Rosie O'Donnell seems to be a prime example of this. I didn't hear her or anybody else make a big deal out of the Bush administration giving Sandy Berger a get out of jail free card.

There is also almost no talk about Able Danger by the "Truth Movement" even though this was one of the most blatant conspiracies concerning 9/11. How else do you explain this other than the fact that it was a conservative Republican, Curt Weldon, who tried to get Able Danger in the spotlight?

And guess what? It was Berger and his consulting group that hand-picked and financed the opponent who ran against Weldon and won the election.

In fact, the only network that I saw that did an expose on the Sandy Berger case was Fox. Living up to their motto of being "fair and balanced" the thrust of the Fox special on Berger was why the Bush Justice Deptartment let him off the hook. What disappointed me about the Fox special was that they failed to point out that Lee Hamilton, former 9/11 Commission co-chair, was now employed by Berger.

If people in the government were smart enough to plan and pull off 9/11, wouldn't they also be smart enough to leave a trail of evidence pointing away from them?
