I decided to take a short cut on the way home from a meeting with my boss down an unpaved road. It was smooth sailing for the 1st half mile, and then
my truck (1995 4wd Ford Bronco) gets stuck in the mud.
I'm not going into the full extent of the damage yet (I don't even know the full extent of the damage yet), but...
The road, apparently, is a public road. It is recognized by mapquest and by GPS devices. It also has addresses on it.
Can I hold the town liable for allowing the road to fall into disrepair to the point it becomes impassable and causes damage to my truck?
There were no warning signs on the road. I've taken pictures of my truck being stuck and the road itself just incase.
And how can I find out for certain if it is a public road?
