The U.S. Navy staged its latest show of military force off the Iranian coastline on Wednesday, sending two aircraft carriers and landing ships packed with 17,000 U.S. Marines and sailors to carry out unannounced exercises in the Persian Gulf.

The carrier strike groups led by the USS John C. Stennis and USS Nimitz were joined by the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard and its own strike group, which includes landing ships carrying members of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

It's been said before-War is right around the corner w/ Iran, This time however....

I believe the Bush admin is running out of time in office and will attack Iran in 2007

We will see if this is another case of posturing or not.

I dont know anymore, this Attack on Iran is talked about on ATS alot. I really dont see it happening right now. Iran/Syria and the Terrorists in Lebanon need to be stop immediately.

Syria has been linked to Gaza Strip and West Bank and the cells in Leb
Iran has been linked to the problems in Iraq
Iran and Syria have a mutual defense pack.


Lets just get the attack on and stop talking about Sink every ship that Iran has, Fishing or other wise.

Hit the Nuclear Sites, Airports, Air Force Bases

Hit Power, Water, Oil, Warehouses

Hit personell Compounds, Personel Bases,

Knock them out of the game and break them down.

Not before June at least. May 24: UN Deadline. May 28: Iran-USA meeting on Iraq security.

If all those things fails from Bush perspective, or that Iraq civil war continue, Iran will be bombed, then, hell break loose.

Iran got or maybe will soon get Russian anti-aircraft system S-300PMU2... very performant stuff.

Seems to me there's no room for a conventional war with Iranians at the moment.
Warships in the area cannot be there to drop tnt type weapons. Iran leaders must already know their reach for nuclear weapons is a rapidly fading reality.

If only they realized their limitations. Peace could still possibly prevail.
