In the event that TSHTF and we all have to bug out to the country everthything man made will be in short supply so I decided to make this thread to share ideas for recycling post-sit x.

There is the obvious food scraps for animals or fertallizer.

Ok I will get us started heres how to reuse EGGSHELLS. Its pretty simple crush them up and spread around the base of plants this does two things. 1 its cuts the underside of snails on the jagged edges efectivley killing them and 2 they break down and fertillize the plant.

Sorry for spelling mistakes im in a bit of a hurry.

Several batteries scavenged from any abandoned vehicles that have run out of fuel could be hooked up to create a makeshift welding rig...never tried anything like this but would be fun to try to see just how well it would work

Abandoned vehicles are money on the hoof er I mean wheels. Some will likely be abandoned simply because they're out of fuel. Every part of the vehicle can be recycled to repair other vehicles. Even the tires and fluids can be reused. Leaf springs on trucks(lorries) make great knives. The axle shaft can be used as a gunbarrel blank. Every metal screw, bolt and nut on them represents hundreds of man/hours of labor.

Metal food cans can be used for numerous applications. The neatest one that I've seen was as shingles for siding and roofing.

Only thing I can contribute to this line of thinking at this time is to save all junk mail. Save it up in case natural gas lines go dry and use it to start a fire. I wish I had more to contribute.

Any electric motor...whether scavenged from a washing machine or a vehicle starter-motor could be used in reverse as a generator coil...the heart of a gerry-built wind-turbine...and hooked up to a bank of vehicle batteries to keep the charge maintained for a useable 12v supply for lighting/radio/etc
