Could someone tell me what this is?

The helicopter seems to be flying over it and then flies away and when it does the towers come down. So what is the thing I circled in red and why is the helicopter flying over it? Why does the helicopter fly away and when it does the tower comes down?

It's just part of the rooftop of the building. Here's a model of the WTC and you can see something sticking up on the corner on one of the towers. The helicopter might have been trying to see if he could get in there to pick someone up, and saw the tower moving so he moved off. The helicopter pilots were the first to notice the tower might be about to collapse.
