Felons can not vote in most states. Thus if you are convicted of a crime you lose certain rights and priviledges. That said I would like to propose
that any politician convicted of a crime or removed from a position due to questionable activities be barred from ever holding a political office
again, be it elected or appointed. This would help to weed out certain undesireables like Paul Wolfowitz, John Negroponte, John Poindexter, Elliot
Abrams et.al. Why should a politician of uncertain or certain but bad ethical judgement be put back in circulation to create more havoc? Give someone
else a chance, we might actually find someone who has a degree of moral character. Presidential pardons would not allow these people back in politics
either. They can say they were not really criminals but just because their bud the President pardoned them doesn't clear them for more political
skulldugery. It might actually cut down on political malfeasance. What say you?
