RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Barack Obama, caught up in the fervor of a campaign speech Tuesday, drastically overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 had died.

So while the President had a slip of the tongue immediately corrected that really had no meaning (the Queen/1776 affair), Obama overstates American casualties of a natural disaster by one thousand times, apparently only realizing after being corrected by staff, while making a totally false assertation that the emergency response was impeded by the war in Iraq.

I wonder why his gaffe isn't being broadcast across the nation by the MSM?

And who's the stupid one? Who are the sheeple?

The governor of Kansas said that the emergency response was impeded because most of their National Guards heavy equipment had been sent to Iraq. I know I saw them on TV saying it during a visit to Greensburg.

Thats great. If it was a one or two off or even rounded up for dramatic effect it wouldnt be a big deal at all but as he was stating the casualties to be more than 3 times what was experiences on 9/11 he himself didnt consider this odd.

Politicians rarely if ever think for themselves and since Obama is being groomed and nurtured to fullfill some grand role Im convinced he's nothing more than an empty shell that happens to not be white. As long as he can repeat what his handlers have told him with a certain level of accuracy and maintain his smiling, non-white outer shell he's fullfiling his puppet role nicely.

Or he just doesnt care about middle America. But who can blame him? According to virtually all news and entertainment media America consists of only New York and L.A. Everything else is inconsiquential faceless filler that wastes its time being barefoot, drunk and when not madly waving guns around theyre praying to magical god figure. I wonder if Obama doesnt think this, being one of the deadliest tornado seasons, was brought upon them by their not sacrificing to their backwoods voodoo god.

Uh...he misspoke. Big frigging deal?

At least he doesn't talk with different accents depending on who he is with, and at least he is eloquent enough that people like when he talks.

probably because it was just someone embarassing himself, not someone embarassing himself and an entire nation in front of a monarch.

i'd say the guy that messes up numbers on one occassion isn't that stupid, and that you're one of the sheeple if you think there's something huge behind one man getting one number wrong once after a near perfect record not being broadcast on the news. now, if obama gets as habitual about slips of the tongue as bush, i wouldn't be surprised to see them all over the news.

if you've actually read a prepared speech, you just go with it.

you're right, middle america is probably what's wrong with this country. it's backwards, intolerant, religiously fanatical, ignorant to anything happening beyond the borders of the USA, and the biggest source of poverty in this country.

thinking about it, middle america needs to get with the times

Thank you for illustrating my point. Your ignorance astounds me.
Maybe if you werent being so 'intolerant, fanatical and ignorant to everything happening within this countries borders' you'd have a different perspective.

i've lived in missouri, smack dab in the middle of america, for the last 16 years of my life, so i'm far from ignorant on the subject of middle america

exactly where have i displayed ignorance? i accurately described the majority of people living within 250 miles of my house.

i'm not being fanatical when i say that middle america is behind the times. middle america is behind the religious movements that are by far the largest source of ignorance in american politics today.
i don't want to abandon middle america, i want to fix it.

What is worse? Obama Hussein Barack mis-stating the number of deaths in Kansas, or his audience just sitting back and nodding their heads in agreement?

Surely someone in the audience would have corrected him? Wait...nevermind...the audience was full of democrats. My bad!

or maybe it was an underreported disaster that most people didn't have that casualty figures on. OR they could have just been polite... because it's really not that nice to correct a public speaker in the middle of a speech.

oh, and nice working in the hate mongering!
