Ok, this does not even make sense...

I was on either CNN.com or Foxnews.com and saw a banner ad for boredomhurts.com. It was flashing and clearly demaned my attention.

It turned out to be a weird site to promote new Fords but I was bugged out about a map they have.

Boredom Hurts site

Ok, whats with the HUGE flooded area? I know its flooding because I live in NY and the Hudson is clearly flooded in this picture. This is just creepy that someone would even ever put something like this up...WTF?!

It reminds me of a program on BBC TV recently that theorised the effects of a major hurricane hitting NY City head on. They seemed to say that the storm surge could inundate a comparable area. Maybe that's it? The BBC got their figure from some US Govt. agency conducting hurricane threat assessments. Sorry I can't be more specific about whom.

It could also be a map showing the consequences of that volcanic island on the otherside of the Atlantic sliding into the sea. I agree that it is a serious amount of land that is shown as being inundated. Seriously unsettling for you I should imagine, without wanting to be flippant, it might be an idea for all of us to look for a nice place in the mountains.

The first thing I did was compare distances on Google Earth and looked for a nice place to move.

I am actually more concerned why such a huge company using ads on a HUGE site would put such a map. I suspected that the general population would not even notice but I freaked right away.

Is this prophecy for what's about to come?

I just don’t get it. The boredom alert centers look like nuclear blast indicators while I'm being so cynical.

Here, I found this site with a simulation of the tsunami.

See what you think about the comparison.

The title of your thread is quite appropriate because I have no idea what you are talking about. This is not a map of flooding, it is a made up map of boredom from an ad. Don't freak yourself out. If it was really about flooding I doubt almost the whole state of Arizona would get flooded. It would be more around the large bodies of water not a desert.

Hahaha mushroom...

The bullseye areas are not the flooding...

THE HUGE BLUE EAST COAST IS THE FLOODED AREA...

I am so suprised no one else is dumbstruck by Ford's choice for a map.

Karilla provided a good link explaining the cause and I JUST saw a program on Discovery Science saying that the island that would cause the flood IS going to collapse and cause a MEGA-TSUNAMI but it is not known when...

I wonder if it would be possible to contact Ford and ask

Where the hell did you get that image?

it is rather weird after all how many pictures show America like that very few, it seems planned if you ask me.

Some form of subliminal message perhaps.

I mean you posted it and discussed it here in detail yes ? It even made you question your current address.

I'm actually suprised at the lack of response. I mean about a month or two ago some fellow posted a half baked triangle and eye picture from a TimeWarner ad and many people speculated.

I'm not saying his event was not wierd but must I say for a Ford promotion site such imagery seems unnatural.

A day or two after posting this I even had the luck to catch a Discovery Science show on MEGA-TSUNAMI's which dealt specifically with La Palma Islands. (The realest threat to the East Coast of the U.S.)

If no one else thinks this map is strange maybe I have a unsetteling life where information is presented to me in a special order allowing me to make odd connections.

I'll ask Ford what's up but I have a feeling I will get a "I don't see what you mean" response like filing FOIA document request.

I see what you are talking about, its clear as day. I have seen a map like this one in a photo from the sixties. The photo was a military guy shaking hands with another guy in front of the map which took up the entire background. I have that photo on a vhs tape, I will try and find it. San Jose CA. (where I live) is is in a flooded area on both maps. Good find! Very strange.

I'm just not seeing what you are... flooded area?

Maybe you could post another map of the same area for comparison?

I think that it's the green, almost scaly looking parts of the map. Along the Mississippi, for example. And all over Florida.

I recall in eighth grade that my science teacher had a neat 3D map which showed the elevations of the U.S. One day, he told us that if all the ice in the world were to melt, all the green parts on the map would be flooded. The deep green was for elevations of zero to one hundred feet. I seem to recall that the green on that map nearly matched this map.

Anyway, that's quite interesting... what would we do if the U.S. were flooded?

I think the Denver airport would become our central link to the rest of the country (if not world) if this flooding happens but thats another thread.

I cant find my stupid vhs tape with a flooded U.S. map. I suck.Sorry.

If you look at California, the water comes in thru the bay area and extends all the way to L.A. (almost). Thats about 400 miles too far. It should stop around Alameda.

East coast looks completly screwed.
