Okay, I'm hoping that by addressing this, I can fix my problem and this thread can be closes quickly.
Agreed?
Good.

Okay.
On the upper menu bar, it keeps saying that I have new u2u's, even when I don't and it's really freakin' annoying.
Is there something new that I don't know about?
Is it a glitch?
Is it always going to say that I have u2u's?
Is this happening to anyone else?
Can we address this issue?

Thanx

Yes, it happens to everyone. It is a known bug.

When somebody sends a u2u to more than one person, you may have read it, but the other person didn't, so it would show up as not read.

You can stop it by either deleting or saving the u2u's.

When that happens to me, I clear out all my u2u's incoming and outgoing...it always fixes the problem. Hope that helps?

Thanx Jensouth.

I'll have to give that a try.

In the meantime, is Springer or Skeptic Overlord (or whomever) going to be looking into that glitch?

If it works to clear out your box, then is there really a problem? Clear out your box first and see if it fixes the problem........if it does, then there isn't a problem
I'm not being ugly, just saying it's hard to complain about this wonderful free service they provide

Okay, true, I see what you're saying.
I guess I'm just comfortable around clutter and I'm too lazy to clear it out sometimes.
Y'know, instant gratification and such.

However, a glitch is a glitch, and should be addressed.
We have no idea if it might have far-reaching effects, there could be some kind of systemic problems in the future.

Just save the u2u's that you want to keep for further use...and dump the rest in one lump sum
That's what I do

Gotcha sister.

Yeah, it seems to work just fine.

Still, I wonder what causes this problem.
I noticed that it's only been happening recently.
Quite a while after the site was re-designed, so I don't think it was that exactly.

While we're at it, are there any other site problems that need to be addressed?
(just curious)

Some u2u's will not be marked as read, if they are sent to more than one person. If a staff member sent yourself, and another member, a u2u, the u2u would remained marked until both had read it. So if you read it, clicked back to the threads, it would still say that you have a new u2u until the other member read it.

To avoid this, save it or delete it after reading it.

Ahhh, communication breakdown.
If I had a nickel for each time I did that, I'd have, like...all these nickels.
