Well i was outside checking out the sky like i usually do every night
and i saw something i can't really explain.

I was looking east at the night sky, there were a few clouds out lit by the full moon and the city lights below.

I saw a bright light (it was about as bright as the brightest star in sky) flying from south to north then the light just suddenly faded out about what i could guess to be about a few hundred yards just before it entered
a set of 2 small clouds thet were sitting side by side to each other,
i waited a few seconds for it to exit from the other side of the clouds but it never did.
I thought that was pretty weird so i went inside to get my girlfriend to come see (that took about 2 minutes) and as we were looking at the 2 clouds it had gone into the clouds started to vanish first one then the other.

it took each of them a matter of seconds to totaly dissapear - i've never seen clouds vanish before my eyes before. then all of the sudden one small cloud starting forming out of thin air acroos from where the other two were.

very strange, any ideas of what could have happened?

Thanks!

If you're just chillin and hanging out outside watching the skies, then why not have a camera sitting there with you?

As far as clouds disappearing and reappearing like you explained... I dunno about that one. Makes you wonder if they were really clouds in the first place.

And as far as the bright-light dot that you saw moving across the sky, well I think you all know how I feel about that... lol...

Maybe it was a Chemtrail dissapation craft? (Just kidding)
That was very strange for the lit sphere and the clouds to
vanish together. First time I've ever heard of this. And
the previous poster is correct in suggesting that you take
a video camera out with you on each skywatch. Thanks
for sharing this experience, O.G..

My knee jerk response..........meteor burning out?
And the clouds do fade and appear out of thin air, I'm recalling that from a few time-lapse movies of clouds, that I saw. There must be some on youtube.

I have seen hundreds of shooting stars/meteors in my 30 years.
this was not a shooting star/meteor, and i've never seen clouds vanish in seconds - i've seen clouds dissapate/ break apart due to upper lvl winds.
natural clouds dont just vanish in 2-3 seconds.

maybe if your watching time-lapse footage of clouds they will seem to disapear quickly. this was real time 2-3 seconds.

My first thought would be a polar orbit satellite, followed by the two clouds dissipating. That's just my initial impression.

I have seen clouds dissipate in just a few seconds. But the weather conditions need to be just right. What type of clouds were they? What was the weather like that night? Where are you located? (inland, near mountains, a sea, etc.)

They where just regular everyday clouds nothing special.
Weather - no wind at all super still.
Location - Lake Woth, florida- i'm about a mile away from the beach (east coast) the clouds where out west inland.

another weird thing - their where other clouds around the ones that vanished that never moved or anything.
