What do YOU think is a FANTASTIC Role Playing Game in your opinion?

From my opening statement, you've probably got an idea as to which R.P.G's are among my favorites.

Now it's YOUR turn... to tell me YOUR favorites!

I don't have a lot of time for gaming anymore (I'd rather post on the forum LOL). So I am not up on most of the more recent games, and I've only ever played in an arcade or on a PC. I haven't touched a TV-box game since the Atari 2600.

that said, my favorite arcade game was ... was it called House of the Dead? Something like that, where you had a gun and ran around shooting at the screen and jumping IRL like a freak. Quite a lot of fun.

On the computer, Diablo 1 and 2 were the ones I spent the most time on. I also had a good time with Baldur's Gate. Especially once I went and got the cheat codes.

Geez, I've played a ton of RPGs in my time, but I think one of my favourites has to be Neverwinter Nights. The story was good, you could customize your characters really nicely, the interface was easy to use, and once you finish the official campaign, you can just download user-made mods for it if you want to replay. It also has multiplayer PvE and PvP options.

i gotta go with FFIII for SNES. That game was a work of art.

Morrowind hands down, I've had it since the day it was released and I still haven't seen or done everything this amazing game has to offer.

Oblivion, unfortunately, was a shame because Bethesda tried too hard to cater to a wider audience, forgetting those that have been with the series since the beginning. :shk:

well, i would have 2 go with final fantasy eight, the squall's gunblade was the best, that or the legend of zelda a link to the past

Interesting...now you have to expand because Oblivion is at the top of my "to purchase" list.

I've never plaid Morrowind...but all I've heard about Oblivion is how great it is. I'm curious to hear your opinion...

I have a few favorites, and the majority are SquareSoft™ titles.

Final Fantasy VII™ was absolutely amazing.

Once upon a time, I owned a copy of Dragon Warrior™. I got it free for signing up for Nintendo Power™! Great game.

All the Zelda™ games are great, however they don't exactly qualify as a RPG. More of an action/adventure/RPG. They have their own genre.

Xenogears™ was another amazing title.

But I think my all-time favorite RPG has to be:

Final fantasy VII is the best RPG
but then again most final fantasy are amasing
FFX-2 was the most shoddy final fantasy, i lothed it
Sephiroth is the best character a game has ever seen!

Id go with FF7 or Fable.
Even though Fable was promoted on alot of lies,it still turned out to be a pretty good game.

I like final fantasy 7 and morrowind are the best rpgs. Ps2 didn't really have any good ones.
