The public arnt ready for disclosure yet, look at the media. They make jokes about ufos and alians. Churches make them seem like deamons and all those who believe there are ufos seem like idiots.

Its going to take something big to make people believe in alians and/or ufos.

Do you know who the media is connected with ?

And also the one's that make the jokes ? Are they not the one's who dont want discloshure YET i.e the church ?

I would also say that such organisations like the church are JUST starting to open up about such topic's.

And other organisations will follow shortly afterward's.

The church used to burn witches do they burn them now ?

P.S notice i use the word church more than once.

Ah, I enjoyed your post here. It said everything I was trying to say with a clear tone and less rambling off (something I am usually quilty of).

Bravo and all that.

You have to pick your battles and really go in to it with an extreme amount of patience if you are to introduce someone into this field.

The best way, I've found, is not to start off with a conversation, it takes too much time and it will be hard to present a clear timeline and you'll probably forget details, dates and so on.

The best way, for me, to introduce someone 'to my world' is to either give them a documentary such as www.abovetopsecret.com... or to watch it with them. Also be clear that there are people out there for a buck faking this, there are simple liars and there are a lot of people who are simply seeing natural phenomena or an airplane... but that there are, oh so many, extremely solid witnesses and an huge amount of videos, pictures, documents, radar logs, etc that points to the fact that this is a subject really worth looking into.

Most regular folks will at least hold of the "tinfoil" comments when you include astronauts statements into the mix, mention Cooper or Mitchell or show them NASA videos or the interview with Buzz about the "unkown" Apollo object, etc.

Also it's important to make them understand that goverments have (and therefore should still) paid a lot of attention to this, Blue Book, Cometa, etc. The fact that Dr Hynek went from spouting swamp gas explanations on TV to actually coming back to the subject (released from the gov. tight grip), convinced there was something to it, going back to some of the unexplained Blue Book case files. Mention Carter, heck mention Clinton and ask the rhetorical question why Clinton failed to live up to his promise of disclosure.

All in all to get your point across will take time and endurance and ultimately, if they really don't care - they won't and we'll have to live with it. Life goes on. It's their choice.

Most people go through life with blinders on, they know what they see here on earth, but fail to realize the size and enormity of the universe. For some people it is incomprehencable that thier could be life other then what is on our planet.

My grandmother is blinded by religion, she had no idea that the sun was a star. She thought the sun was the sun and the stars where the heavens. I tried to show her pics from the hubble, and explain things to her, but her mind started to vegitate.

I once worked with a guy that was training to be an emt. He was taking a class to study human anatomy. He came into work one day, and was bragging how amazed he was that the center of our eye, the back part was a hole for light to enter. He was religious too.

Religoius people dont know how to quetions things or how to find the answers. They belive in a god and that he is the answer for everything.

Personaly I dont know how some people can be so short sited.

To be fair, is there any reason for UFOs to have been taken seriously yet? The majority of those seen in the 70s and 80s were obviously experimental planes, the majority of UFO pictures have been photoshopped or faked, and the few that are legitiment are not clearly defined, and just lights in the sky.

Most people have it in them to believe, just havent seen any good "proof"

I recently have shown my mother, father and 2 friends the ATS website.

I got my mom and 1 friend convinced, the other two...oh well.

But Im batting .500, I wish every one else would do the same!

But realistically you probably cant just go and tell a coworker that ufo's are real, but maybe someone you are pretty close too though, who wouldnt shun you forever!

My wife still thinks Im a dork though, so I guess my avg is down to .400
but hell thats a decent avg for anyone!!!!!

The people that aren't so much in to this sceme, are somewhat scared and prepared when they listen of the UFO information. The normal attitude (in Finland in my circles) of "what the hell you are talking about" has changed to "thats scary stuff". Well, it might be due to the teller or/and listener of the story has gotten older, or that the issue has evolved. Either way, it's still not an issue that you talk normally, although it is something that I can pop up of course with my friends, when I read something interestinf new in ATS.

I feel that most people just want to live their lifes. Some people get so caught in the ufo business that they miss life. That's why I don't get to caught up in ufo's and aliens. If their here then they're here. If not, well life still goes on. There's kids to raise, jobs to work, wars to fight and plenty of love if you want it. If aliens exist and don't want to talk to me then screw em". I got things to do.

To be fair, if you want to make a statement like that, you will be able to support it with data. Please, show me the data that the majority of those sightings in that time period was of experimental planes. If it's so obvious, then there is data to confirm it and you have links to it.

Now, even if the majority of them were experimental planes, then what about the minority? Can you account for those?

Personally, out of ten million UFO reports, I wouldn't care less if all of them were proven to be identified, except for one. It only takes one that's truly unidentifiable to prove that something strange is going on. Lucky for me, the percentages are in my favour, not your's.

the majority of UFO pictures have been photoshopped or faked, and the few that are legitiment are not clearly defined, and just lights in the sky.

Fair enough, the majority are fake - ok. So what about the pictures that have not been proven fake? What about the ones that do show some type of craft in the air? Sure, they may be in the minority, but you can't dismiss them.

To be fair, you're not really considering that we're not interested in the fake sightings, we're interested in the sightings that can't be explained. That's what makes this a very serious topic to study, the facts, not the fiction.

They are too worried about their image and status.

Yes, they are worried about thie image and status because of all the nuts that have taken over the UFO (well, not taken over, they have always been there) hobby. Idiots like Greer, Billy Meier, etc, are why people make fun of ufo nuts. That has help to solidify the stigma the goes around this whole thing. I have said it before, until the UFO believers (not blind believers or nut jobs) purge and self police their own, no one else will listen.

Kind of like extremists. They give whatever organization they are raping a bad name, and if they are loud enough they ruin it for the whole organization. And it's even worse when the organization that is getting used by extremist does little or nothing to distance and purge themselves of those extremists. I don't know it this is coming across correctly now that I re-read it, but does any one follow?

Is it that most people just aren’t ready?

If aliens and ufo's were talked about almost everyday in the local media, people would be much more interested, it'd be like, "did you see that last night on the news, damn maybe they really do exist.." but they don't, all you're going to get is.....man fakes ufo stunt, hoax confirmed.

Heck they don't even talk about it what so ever...
