Obscure government unit to probe Rove's political operations

WASHINGTON — The obscure federal investigative unit known as the Office of Special Counsel generally confines itself to monitoring the activities of relatively low-level government employees, stepping in with reprimands and other routine administrative actions for such offenses as discriminating against military personnel or engaging in prohibited political activities.

Is this investigattion going to finally bring all the dirt to light? Is ist going to be able to show that Rove has been at the head of all the major recent White House conspiricies ie. emails, attorney firings?

It is hard to tell since, as the article states:

First, the new inquiry comes from inside the administration, not from Democrats in Congress.

Good that it is not being forced by Democrats, but bad that Bush (read Rove) could be able to influence the findings.

Well it could be a good thing if . . . the people "inside the administration pursuing" are dissatisfied Republicans that see what is going on with Rove' influences of Bush policies.

I wonder how in the heck Rove has lasted as long as he have when almost all scandals in Washington are link to him.
