The Dead Shall Rise First?

Didn't say the righteous dead were raised, merely the dead in Golgotha that were in Christ literally.. the prophecy is very specific. The Son was seperated from the father nearly 2,000 years, a day with God........This was the cost of sin. This was the sacrifice. Jesus did not say he would raise the temple up himself. He said he would cause it to be raised up. The Son could not go to the Father because no one could go to the Father but through the Son, He was the Son and He was dead. Someone had to find the "way" to resurrect the Son. Until that occurred, all the spirits of the dead were stranded where they were. The story of Lazarus was an instruction on how to resurrect Jesus. Think of the words Jesus spoke, take up thy cross and follow me. Jesus paid in full so there was no need for further crucifixions. It said check my path from this point on, if you do this the Father and I will join with you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened.

I was forced to go to church my entire life against my will; however, due to this mandatory attendance I have a pretty astonishing knowledge of the Bible for a non-Christian. ( I found my Truth elsewhere. Nothing against Jesus...he was the friggin' bomb and is still one of my heroes.)

The point of this post is this: If one has a legible Bible and ACTUALLY READS IT for what it is without the viewpoint of whatever denomination you claim to be a part of and without any preconceived notions as well...it explains itself quite clearly. Read the Bible. Generally, if you keep an open mind about a confusing verse it is explained by the Bible itself within a few more verses or in some cases another chapter. So many people seem to forget this fact alongside many others and rely instead on some dude yelling bloody murder from behind a pulpit. Rely on the Bible, not on Man.

How do you know that Adam's head etc were buried in Golgotha, and where are you getting all this info that is not mentioned in scripture? Is it simple tradition?

Also, the prophecy you mentioned about the dead in Christ being raised first happens at the last trump, the seventh trumpet of the seventh seal of Revelation, at the return of the Lord Christ, at his descent from heaven, not his previous ascension...

1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

REVELATION 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.

1CORINTHIANS 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

Hey DoctorX, I get a lot of the information from the pseudographia, books that were omitted from the Bible. If you haven't read it yet, you are in for a treat. It contains the books of Adam and Eve, The book of Enoch, The books of Moses, Jubilees, a long list of texts that fill in the empty spaces in the lives of the Patriarchs. I also studied ancient Jewish legends and folklore. I discount almost all of the New Testament except for the Gospel of St. John especially chapter 14. Jesus said, how can you understand heavenly things when i am gone, when you can't understand earthly things while i am here with you. That gives me reason to doubt their veracity. The disciples were compelled to provide answers to questions they didn't have the correct answers for. Whenever there is a doubt, i go with Jesus everytime.
