Abovetopsecret.com stock?

Quick question for the site owners..

Is there anychance that in the future Abovetopsecret.com could become a publicly owned corporation?

Also, if it is possible to know, how much revenue does this site bring in?

Anything is possible... Do you have a couple million dollars you'd like to invest to get us to an IPO?

Our revenue numbers are a private matter and not discussed publicly, I can just about assure you the real number is much lower than you probably think it is though.

Ah, thanks for the feedback though.

I don't have a few million to invest, I wish though..

But I would invest what I could in Abovetopsecret.. at the rate your site is growing you never know, in a year or two membership could double.

I would definitely drop at least 5 grand on ats. Just because I love it so much. Granted that isn't very much in the scope of things but. I think a lot of the members would also invest as they could.

Seriously though, if ATS were to go public things would change dramatically. Perhaps in ways most members wouldn't like. Shareholders would demand the bottom line at the excuse of everything else. As it is the owners can do what they want regardless of shareholder opinion. Its pretty good the way it is I think.

I have a guess on what ATS makes monthly, and if I'm even remotely close, I'd jump on the stock immediately.

Buy site stocks

This is an online site-stock buying game, a virtual online stock exchange using fake money to buy stocks in various sites..

I bought Abovetopsecret.com shares at $8.47

Wolfofwar owns the controling share though...

Just thought I would throw that out there in light of the topic.

If we can't actually put ATS in our portfolio, how about some in house fun.

I think we need some sort of wagering system within the ATS boards that we can use our points with.

It would be entertaining to be able to place a bet in a pool, or make a bet between two members. Members could even suggest different pools to set up and we could buy a ticket on the outcome with the points we have in our acct.
Say 50 or 100 points per bet.

Each member could be limited to a couple entries so that it's fair to members with few points, but it buys them a chance to make a lot.
I don't see that the house would need to take a cut, and the total points in the pool would go to the winners.

We could bet on the outcome of elections.....
We could bet on the date we make contact with aliens....
We could bet when and where the next major quake will happen....

No money would ever change hands, but it would give members something to do with all the points we gather.

I second this idea.
How much fun would that be in the SPORTS forums?

The answer: Really fun.

I assume you guys at least break even right?

I mean, I'd hate to know that you guys take a hit keeping the site up and running each month.

todays market rally was spurred on by Googles record earnings this quarter $3.18 (over last years same quarter $1.95)
a 63% jump in profits...

i think GOOG pays ATS (a L.L.P.) a little bit for AD clicks,
i think ATS uses almost all the revenues to grow the forum
so as to command a better paying AD click rate.

going from a LLP to a LLC or issuing stock all takes kaboodles of cash
and the business mission would change...
the virtual market stock game sounds like the only real alternative

if you desire shares of ATS, youse guys are going to have to 'bid'
high enough for one of the known ATS stockholders to part with some of their holdings.....if there's no trading taking place the price remains stagnant ~
and no-one makes any money

I must admit...a fantasy stock market for various conspiracy threads would be fun. You could do an IPO after an event is deemed worthy of a stock.

Imagine if you'd got in on the SERPO stock and then sold before it crashed?

Superb idea. I think ATS would really benefit from member investments. Takes some of the heat off the amigos aswell.
