I just bought X-Files Book of the Unexplained Vol 1 hardcover for $2 from a bargain bin. The section on UFOs had some new info I never heard of. Has anyone else heard of these events?

-Timothy Good (Above Top Secret - the book) states that Neil Armstrong came clean, describing the ships that he saw on the moon as 'far superior to ours, bothi in size and technology 'Boy, were they big...and meancing!" Good admits that the fact tha tthe alleged tape has never surfaced could indicate that it's nonsense,' but adds, 'people should also as the question why Neil Armstrong left NASA as soon as he landed."

-Marina Popovich, a retired colonal of the Soviet Air Force and wife of prominent cosmonaut Paval Popovich, allegedly received and disseminated an infra-red image beamed back in 1989 from the vanished Soviet Fobos 2 Mars probe (before it lost contact) depicting what strongly resembles a 20 km long alien spaceship. The Russians never officially released the photo. (Isn't this the trailer from Transformers the Movie?)

-Astronaut Pete Conrad sad that one mission had left some equipment on the moon, and another mission picked i tup and brought it back, and when they opened it up they found something very interseting inside. He found out the one of the scientists who had assembled it had probably sneezed during the assembly and bacteria must have got into the works. When they brought it back they saw that the bacteria had actually grown whle on the moon, so therefore life survided out of this atmosphere.'

Anyone else heard of these events?

very interesting concepts you have there.... no i have never heard of any of these statement.... but i did hear about neil armstrong stating some things about ufos etc... before. its really frustrating that somebody of his stature would say something like that and there not be any press coverage from anybody at all..... disclosure seems further and further away everyday for me.

If I recall correctly there are some forms of bacteria that can indeed live (hibernate?) in space. This is why they disinfect all the probes before launch now. They (NASA, ESA) don't want to contaminate the planet or moon, etc.

I wonder if it would be possible for foreign bacteria to come back to earth from a probe say returning from mars with collected soil, etc. It could very well be a plague to this little planet or other life forms.

Too late. There's no way we can possibly completely sterilize such a large spacecraft. We have certainly put some kind of bacteria into the Martian environment. But there's not much there for them to live on, so they won't be evolving into monsters or kangaroos anytime soon.

So far, there's been no life found in any extraterrestrial material, including moon rocks and comet dust. But the panspermia folks are still big fans of the idea that life will latch on to just about any chunks of space rock it can, and patiently wait to land on a nice, warm, wet and comfy planet like Earth to live and grow and eventually evolve into people.

It used to be common knowledge that comets brought plagues. And the Carolina Bays (created by meteorite strikes) are the only place on Earth where you can find Venus Flytraps growing wild. Strange creatures from space? You tell me.

can anybody explain to me why bringing bacteria etc... to mars is a bad thing?
my whole idea has always been to bring tons of water to mars... dump it there and see what happens.... i mean whats the worse that could happen? if it changes the atmosphere there then cool, but i don't see how it would affect us.... can somebody please shed some light on that subject for me?

The bacteria which came back from the moon was also found living in the core of a nuclear reactor in the uk. The press are not informed of this and those which are informed won't cross that line. I have no evidence to prove this but I was told by a friend who has first hand experience of this.
