Well, you can be sure of one thing - The French won't spend 400 million dollars to impeach a president

Yes. Chirac will be tried for corruption though. Not for signing the CTBT as I wish, but for corruption.

MOST normal-thinking people would agree that the fewer nuclear weapons around, the better

No, only leftists like yourself think that this logic is correct. Normal people, such as myself, agree that the more nuclear weapons Western militaries have, the better. We know that aggressors will not disarm themselves, nor will they stop attacking or threatening us Westerners (the last Munich Conference was just a preludium), so consequently we know that it is therefore necessary to strengthen Western militaries, not weaken them.

I do provide evidence. I said that the Russians violated the Limited Test Ban Treaty, and I have proven myself to be right with this link:
www.globalsecurity.org...

I don’t quite buy that, the way that it is worded is kind of weird. All the info keeps saying 1949-1989, so it could be construed that the atmospheric tests stopped in 1963 which is is the way the evidence is pointing due to the fact that if the Soviets did brake the treaty the Americans would have found out and we would see documentaries on the history network about it.

No credible person would ever say that the USSR wasn't a Russian empire dominated by the Russians. If you meant, however, that the Russians have not tested nuclear weapons since 1991, then yes, you are right, but they have violated the LTBT earlier.

The change was a vary significant one. The current Government of the Russian Federation has not broken the treaty and even if the Soviet Union had, we could not hold it against the Russian Federation.

Irrelevant. The Russians have already violated LTBT at least once, so I don't believe they will adhere to the CTBT.

Yeah well little old me would like a little more then your not believeing

Please line out why Mitterand and Chirac are guilty

I didn't cite the termination of IRBMs and 190 warheads as the only act of treason they have committed. READ MY POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!
Then what if any thing are they guilty of?

Sure I can provide Proof which is shocking!

Dude that was the most random pointless site I have ever been linked to. I tried reading it but lost my will to live after reading about how GERMANY WON WW II, like really WTF?

I don't know who will threaten the French, which is one of the reasons they should maintain a strong military - so that they will be prepared for the future, which is unpredictable. We Brits should too.

You know that if France get into a fight, she wont be going alone right? Its called the European Union. Have you heard of it? Now if France gets into a fight everyone in Europe gets into a fight, so I don’t know really how much of an army that France needs.

Afghanistan

Don't mention that country. The Afghan war is a pointless one (I don't think I need to explain why),
Maybe just a little. It might help to let me know why its pointless.

the French should withdraw from Afghanistan.

Now this I agree with, all France is doing is getting in the way and eating a lot of cheese. They really don’t want to fight, and someone not willing to fight has no business being in a war.

That's not proof, that just some incessant ramblings of English nationalists (who seem to be on par with the BNP with some of their attitudes). It'd hardly stand up in a court of law, anyway.

All I hear here is warmongering

If increasing the number of nukes and finger pointing is your solution to these kind of problems then I pity you.

Using your theories, where will it end? How big do those swords have to get before you can't carry them.
Every nuke, carrier etc etc cost taxpayers money they/we cant afford and have never been able to afford.

Have you ever spent time in France? I live here & I'm English by the way.

What would be the logical conclusion to your philosophy?

When I saw the thread title I thought, 'How interesting'!

At last, somebody was taking the plunge to list all the French who collaborated with the Nazis during WWII.

What a pity I was mislead by the title and content.
