I don't know why but it irks me when people act like they have some sort of superiority of someone else just because they post count is higher.

We already have penalties and there are expenditures too.

I use my points like there aint no tomorrow. Well there might not be,but thats not the point. I just like to change up my colors every now and then and add lots to my upload quota, even though I delete new pics in about a week.

Points are unique here and you can actually use them which is cool, but alot of people get caught up in trying to get enough to get into the "Secret" forum. Well, let me warn you.....its not worth 3500 points.

look at it this way....

I have been here longer than Valhall, Springer, Seekerof, Nerdling...hell, alot of of people. Most only by a few months, but look at the point differance. I have like, 4,000 and they all have 15,000 - 30,000. Hell, me and MaskedAvatar registered on the exact same day!

I don't give a shat about points, just what I'm talking about. And usualy, it takes alot to get me talking at length. But here is my point. They all respect and value my opinions and I value and respect theirs. No one cares about the points, or the post count. It's what you have to say, not how many times ya say it.

Don't worry about points, brotha man, just worry what's on yer mind and in your posts

It seems pretty obvious (even to a new member like me) that some people post just to see their name and avatar on the list. They usually don't say much and don't have an opinion on the original subject. A lot of what is being written is just chit chat. Can't you guys get a room?

If you want to get some medium points pretty quick, join the Collaborative Fiction Forum. 500 points per post

But, I have to agree, points aren't everything (yes, they are MOST ) Just keep posting, debating, contributing to ATS, not worry about the points so much. Points can come in useful, but try not to worry about them SO much.

I think that points are just something extra because it is fun to watch them grow...

I was just trying to figure that out myself. I am so intrigued by what is behind door number 10 Really Above Top Secret I can't wait to get into that one. Sounds like a gossip column for the not so faint of heart.

nerdling has a point, but I can understand the need for points to start with , if only to get that access to RATS. and the extra upload space is really handy when you have the points for it

To be honest, can't even remember the last time I posted or read much in RATS, hehe... Don't build it up too much, or you're bound to be in for a BIG disappointment, hehe... It's basically just a "troll-free" forum, thats all....

Upload space, U2U space, a few pretties on the profile side....that's what points are really good for...

If you truly want points, enter the debates, get on a research project, participate in the surveys that come along now and then, contribute to collaborative fiction, etc. Heck, a quality post, can get you an Applause! from a mod, and that's a quick point boost too. Also, post meaningful posts in the actual conspiracy-related topics... But generally, quality posts, and time, will get you more posts than you'll possibly ever spend.... Hell, I've got an ATS e-mail account, tons of U2U space (around 650 or so), and quite a bit of upload space, and all the pretties for the profile, and still a ton of 'em left, and I never even looked to get points...

Yeah RATS is a major disappointment, never go there frankly.
