I got this error -

You have an error in your SQL syntax.
Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version
for the right syntax to use near 'Shields Up' !'' at line 1-

when I tried this function, for this thread

Did it have to do with using an ' ! ' in the title?

Is it possible to save a normal "reply post" as a draft, or only a "new thread" that has a "subject" box for a heading?

I've tried to save a "reply" as a draft, but there is nothing to click on in the subject area.

I am just asking too much I suppose and being "stoopid".

Thank you VERY much. This new feature will help just about everyone.

There is something odd about this feature, I have just tried it in another thread and it looks exactly like your example above the one I am replying to.

In other words the draft was posted rather than stored ready for posting later, except of course with the addition of the title (Reply Draft) and the thread title and it does not appear in my drafts.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Does anyone know what is happening

Just tried to edit out the, "(Reply Draft)" and I am getting. "Sorry you are not allowed in this forum"

Is it me or is this a glitch ?

thats exactly what happened when I tried to use it.. I ended up just deleting it as there didn't seem to be a way to access it.

Did you access your draft through your member center?

There is a button to your draft posts there, I haven't used the feature but I wonder if you need to get to your draft that way.

?

Yep, accessed from member centre and just like rik all I could do is delete it.
I may be missing something here but I would have hoped it would have allowed me to save the post and edit and post it later.

Also I don't quite understand why after producing the draft and saving, it posts it anyway except with the "(Reply Draft)" label, it seems a little pointless somehow.

I'm writing this to test the 'save as draft' option.

I have a draft pending now. I went to my draft page [through the member centre] and there are no drafts there at all.
I came back to the thread and it has posted and says it'as a draft so I clicked "edit" and it said:

Sorry, you are not permitted to view this forum

I could delete it but I'll leave it just in case a mod wants to sus it out.

If i start a new thread, and click "save thread as draft" - i cannot access it from memcenter. It just doesnt have a title link for me to select (regardless that i did name it)

If i type a reply, and clikc "save reply as draft" - i cannot accesss it from memcenter. Same thing as listed above.

I have tried on IE7 and Firefox 3
Firewalls disabled
internet securities low

running windows vista with UAC turned off

the whole shabang. What am i doing wrong

I wish I could help you Andrew E. Wiggin but I never did resolve the problem I was having.

Perhaps some kind person may answer your query on this thread.

Sorry to be late to the party....

But I just tried to use this - and it did save it, but it won't let me open it.

Mine was a reply (thankfully I saved it in textedit, but I will have to redo all the BB code....) --- and I could not open it to do anything with it/post it.

Seems as if its 'there' - but I can't get at it?

I am on a Mac if it means anything to ya.......
(Recent OS, MacBook Pro, 08/latest one.)

Yanno what? I'm gonna go try on the PC! Never know

Will report back.

No Worky on PC/IBM machine either.

Can't open it.

???????

I did not give my reply any title, if that helps. But it is 'showing' and in the correct forum - I just cannot open it. Lack of title for reply? Could it be a problem? Still it IS there - and I tried clicking every which way...... (on both puters)

- this is really of no bother since, as I said, I saved what I wrote here in Text. But I wanted to relay this info anyway in case it might shed light on any 'technical problems'.

~ Peace, "N"

Same here ...
I've used the Draft feature a few times, but only by accident when I meant to click preview post, and hit the wrong button and a reply Draft was posted in error, so I don't see the point of it, because your reply is posted in full view, when you're not ready to make the post, and may decide later not to even post the reply and / or change the wording. I can also see everyone else's Draft posts, which defeats the purpose of them being kept hidden from public view. So it isn't a feature I would choose to use due to this error, and I personally prefer to type and store any future replies off site, until ready to post.
