Holey Toledo Football Scandal

The FBI has charged Toledo football player Harvey “Scooter” McDougle Jr. with taking cash to influence the outcome of 2005 University of Toledo football games.

Remarkable facts about the Toledo Betting scandal have since been uncovered by RJ Bell of PreGame.com, who also serves as a gambling expert for About.com.

According to an NCAA survey, 1.3% of Division I players admitted taking money from a gambler to play poorly.


Over 500 college basketball games spanning a 16 year period involve “gambling-related corruption,” according to an Economics Professor at the renowned Wharton School of Business.
