The sound on my laptop just stopped working :(

For the past few days no sound has been coming from my laptop. Its very strange because this morning i heard a few people sign onto my buddlist. Other than that no other sound has worked. I've turned up the volume on every media player and ive made sure my comp isnt on mute and turned up the comps volume but still nothing. Can someone please give me a suggestion..... calling enjoies!!!

Do you have any game that you could try to see if there is any sound in the game?
