Blair: No deal done for UK sailors
British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Thursday welcomed the return home of 15 British service members held captive in Iran for nearly two weeks, and reiterated that no diplomatic deals were done to secure their release.
Although Ahmadinejad publicly announced the hostages were free, CNN's Christiane Amanpour said the decision to release them would have come from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has the final say on diplomatic, defense issues.
