For once, Diplomacy prevail! No war.... Actually i'm pretty sure that Iran does not want to go at war agains UK, USA and all the countries that have a good army. it would be suicide. So they are showing the world that Iran is a great country and they prefer peace. Let's see what' s going to happen next.

I can't help but think that all this kind treatment is only because of the woman in the group.
I really think this whole thing would've panned out totally different right from the word the go, if they all had've been male sailors.
Just wondering, if maybe the Iranians saw this female sailors interview on TV and knew which ship she was on and that it would be in the area that it was??

Or were these details kept secret and confidential?

ok so is this a good time for me to go on TV and announce that I will be releasing the 15 Irani nationals that I have locked in my basement that I found illegally selling Kebabs in my town centre two days after the 15 British sailors were kidnapped
I am sure that I will be recognised as a very compassionate man that I am not putting them on trial for encroaching on what I regard as my territory (i.e. my local town centre) and will not be lambasted by the press for being so arrogant that I do not see what an asshole I am for attempting this in the first place
after all
its not important what the rest of the world thinks of me
its only important what I say to the press when they have the cameras on

btw I am also attempting to build a nuclear reactor but as by my latest action everyone can be totally sure that I am not in any way unstable I am sure they won't worry about me using it to manufacture weapons grade plutonium
which I of course will assure the international Media that Iam not intending to do
in fact
I don't even know what weapons grade plutonium is

Weapons grade plutonium is refined plutonium for use in weapons basically. I'm sure it goes a lot deeper than that, but hey now you have a clue!

Yeah, I still don't understand how they were right to just kidnap British military personnel when not at war with the Britain.

Shattered OUT...

to get plutonium you first need a fast breeder nuclear reactor..... something the iranians lack

FYI,

I just heard on FNC that the 15 were administered toxicology tests prior to boarding the plane in Tehran.

The reporter said they were trying to figure out if something was given to the 15 to make them "giddy" or something like that, sounds weird, I guess we will find out more later just wanted to let the members know.

FOX News is reporting and unfortunately I cannot find this in print but they are alledging the 15 were administered drug tests when they boarded the aircraft .

Fox say the British wanted to see if they were under any influence of drugs because of some actions. Just what actions I do not know, but think it is worth mention.

'Dual strategy'

In a press conference given outside Downing Street, the prime minister said he was "glad" the crew had been returned "safe and unharmed".

He said "no deal" had been done with the Iranians to secure the crew's release.

He contrasted the rejoicing at the return of the crew with the "sober and ugly reality" of the deaths of four British soldiers in Iraq in what he described as a "terrorist act".

Another twist - gosh i wish blair had thought this one through

this is playing the game even more for iran

the situation in Iraq has been caused by the coalition of the paid - and there is civil war in Iraq which effects British troops - yet they go to Iran and are treated `well` (subjectively)

No it is not. Experts are covering it on more then one channel and claims are being alleged the 15 ere tortured in more then one way and that will come out in the next few days. When it does Iran is going to end up with tons of egg on its face as if it does not have enough already for its blatant violation of the rules of war by parading them around live for TV cameras.

which channels? FOX? well that would explain everything as they `broke` it first (or rather made it up

I disagree. I don't think that this is the result of diplomacy at all. Iran feels backed into a corner, and they're flailing around for something to do. I see this as Iran trying to goad the US and UK into a war and make it look as though the US and UK are the aggressors; that seems to me is the only way that they can galvanize international support behind them. Once they saw that the UK wasn't going to budge, they gave up. A little face-saving, everyone goes home and we all forget about it next week.

I don't understand what they would have to gain by making something like that up. I know they're sensationalist, and their business model is to bring in the audience on the right because the right perceives the rest of the media as liberal, but I am not willing to ascribe to them bald-faced lying. Because once they start doing that, they'll lose their credibility. I watch Fox News, and haven't found them lying about anything, but I know that they're going to focus on different stories for different reasons. (What I am talking about here is their news programming, not anything that comes on between the hours of 8 and 11.) The same thing happens in the CNN, MSNBC, and network newsrooms. But I don't think they're going to lie either.

A little OT, but it's too easy to dismiss something because you don't like the source. I think we all do it at times.

FOX have been busted several times for making things up during the last few years where it comes to the situation in the middle east.

from selective view points on certain events to down right lies - they have been caught out

Here's a new report from Newsweek by a reporter who was on the flight from Tehran, pretty interesting and describes the secrecy given to the 15 for their flight to freedom:

Dances with Diplomacy

The curtain divider was firmly closed. A blanket was hung behind the curtain. A flight attendant who stood behind the blanket throughout the trip was assigned with the task of saying, "No, it’s not possible," to any query—including my request for a glass of water. The 11 journalists on the plane asked numerous times to talk to someone in charge. But that just increased the number of barriers put on the curtain to make it more difficult for us to look through it. The only person who ever emerged from the front was a nervous Orlando Bloom look-alike from the British Foreign Office who valiantly declared: "We have decided to protect the privacy of the sailors." When the journalists asked who "we" meant, he replied "we" means all of us.

I asked in another thread about this but I'll ask here for more exposure...

Note the scarf worn in this picture:

Does anyone know if she's still wearing it because she doesn't want to mess up her hair, has she been formally converted to Islam, or what?

>
Response to below:

Ah OK. Still a bit odd, but acceptable.

The 15 were still in Iran in that photo, they changed "in flight" into their military uniforms, and that is how they disembarked upon arrival.

This certainly is an IMPORTANT piece of information, which just came out.

Of course, when the marines are safe and sound at home;

The captain in charge of the 15 marines detained in Iran has admitted they were gathering intelligence on the Iranians

Well, well, well...

That's not so surprising; they were searching a boat at the time. Where was the boat coming from?

So,

Despite the fact, that these marines were violating Iran territory;

Despite the fact, that this was not the first incident of this time;

Desptie the fact, that MoD faked the maps to proove the location;

Despite the fact, that MoD faked the photo, to show the GPS data;

Despite the fact, that there are numerous western supported guerrilla groups operating in Iran;

People are still not satisfied with the ending of this "Drama"?

I wonder when was the last time a Gift of this kind was given by the Coalition in their mighty War on Terror.

I am loving the voice of the devils advocate here.

whether or not he actually believes what he is saying, I believe that it is always important to see both sides of an argument.

how many of us here have naturally sided with the british and american governments position on this scandal?

and then how many of us will turn right back around and call our own governments liars and conspirators?!

check yourself!
