I would just like to say that you run a great website and it is one of my favorites. You do great investigations. Keep it up.

The video is interesting. Now that I know there is no tower it really has my head spinning. I like to think of explanations, and the tower idea seemed good at the time.
(the lighting never really did make sense in the tower theory)

Downloading it now, very interesting/promising.

about youtube, why ould you want it to be on youtube unless you really don't want a closer look.. youtube and the like aren't really suitable video's for having a closer look, the small size and high compression make those pretty much useless.

The only positive that I can see with YouTube is that it is fairly friendly to run and use for the casual observer. I really don't know much about media software, and whatever it takes to view this video - my laptop does not have. I get a blank screen with no luck. I suspect that the IT dudes at work might know, but it's not worth the trouble to ask them!

At least I can view ANYTHING on YouTube without requiring any special knowledge or downloads. Sure, the quality isn't as great, but it gives me an idea about what's being shown.

Seeing the screen shots helps. It doesn't look like a tower to me from the stills. Interesting.

wouldn't know why the file wouldn't run on your system. it's a mediaplayer wmv file with asf encoding, should run on media player.

you could try Xp codec pack (easily found on google) if you think it's a missing codec.

anyway, didn't know up front, I downloaded the video but can't edit it for stills to check out in photoshop because it's ASF.

no analysis from me then SniFF

I don't mind huge filesizes and prefer the least amount of compression as possible to check out, so anyone maybe know if there's an original straight from camera video available? doesn't matter if it's a huge file, I'd really want to check out this one. seems so promising

Gosh !! You certainly don't look like an idiot Dulcimer. You made a bold post and asked for replies. Seems to me dresses, skirts or bikinis' have little to nothing on your subject. You Ladies are all pretty -- that's a given.

I wonder if there was a way one could do spectral analysis on the lights.

Yea, I was checking out optical rangefinders and spectrometers today to find a cheap way to get more info out of a sighting, but I have not found anything that rings my chimes yet. It seem that a photo of a UFO doesn't carry much weight, but it is good enough to send somebody to the electric chair. I guess I should look up magnatometers too.

OH HELL YES!

I carry a case (small leather bag) with my camera in it everywhere I go. I have once been told "what's with the purse" -- she's right and after that comment I did bother answering. I have not had a chance to use the camera yet re things in the sky or below -- mayhaps someday/night soon?

Just caught this thread this morning and wanted to say nice find Dulcimer! Now Iam not claiming to be an expert, not by a long shot but from my home I can see the lights at the airport here[ medium size airport] we also have a military base here that is NORAD. I can see the lights illuminate part of the tower base when they flash, but that I suppose would depend on how far away you were watching them from.We have a lot of air traffic here as planes fly over from Toronto to Montreal as well as military planes helicopters etc. Day or night I have not seen lights like that here. BTW I personally have not witnessed a ufo. It would probably scare the bejesus out of me!

I have also just seen this a minute ago.

I don't know if it's been mentioned so I'll just throw it out there:

I think it's a helicopter. The first thing I noticed on the video is the sound of chopper blades and that center light looks an awful lot like a helicopter search light. I noticed about halfway thru the rotor sound cuts out.

JMO but I am going to go with helicopter.

I think that is engine noise from their vehicle.

I don't know if it's an helicopter because the sound might be different than what we actually hear to me...but i'm no expert.

Well, I consider myself an expert, seeings how I've spent the last 8 years of my naval career working on all manners of helicopters, including but not limited to -

CH-46 Sea Knight
MH-60S (Sierra)
MH-60R (Romeo)
SH-60F (Foxtrot)
and the HH-60H (Hotel)

Those are just the aircraft I've worked on. I've had exposure to and been around numerous others (too many to list).

My opinion of the sound in the video - It doesn't sound like a helo I've ever heard. That isn't to say it *couldn't* be, but I know what one sounds like, in all sorts of enviroments, and it doesn't sound like one to me.

My question: Why do they stop filming? (like many other "ufo" videos)
Personally I dont like this explanation of the cameraman very much:
"We saw it for about 10 minutes, but I was at the end of my camera tape, and then the battery on the camera completely died. The same thing with my cell phone---they were both very low already though so I don't know if them dying was related. "

The sound you hear is their Honda Prelude running. The two gentlemen were traveling east of Neilburg on Highway 40 when they seen that object in the air. They started videotaping it. Then shut off the car to proceed vidoeing while standing outside. At one point, one of the gentleman's cellphone goes off. (The music you hear).

It was not a helicopter. You would have clearly heard the helicopter on the videotape, not to mention the gentlemen would clearly have known it was a helicopter. We don't have helicopters flying around the farming communities after 2 in the morning and if it was a helicopter, Dr. Bruce Maccabee would have spotted that right away as he has already viewed the tape.

You will also notice there was a tanker truck parked on the side of the highway near the light pole. They tried to approach the driver to speak to him but he apparently took off on them, if I remember rightly.

Barb

PS. It's a fact of life that batteries do go low and then drain completely. Batteries were already low. You don't have to like it. It just happens. Whether that was related to the sighting we will never know. More likely both the cell and video camera just drained - like they would have if no sighting had occurred.

Yes, a bad coincidence indeed.
I have another question: Is there any info how the object dissapeared?

Come on guys, don't blow me off, can we do a spectral analysis here or not?!?

I for one and not blowing you off. I would do that, if I knew how, and if i had the correct hardware / software. Any experts care to take a look?

It is not possible. The information you seek is not stored in such a picture. You need to do a spectral analysis on the original light source.

I have not read any comments before posting this, but, I think that it looks like it's a plane. I don't think that the story should be relevant either, as it often can distract from the 'evidence' presented and could be BS anyway. Why is it so out of focus and why does it cut before seeing it move off?

Dude, that is an ignorant post.

You admit to not reading anything prior to posting. You also admit to not reading the background story. Yet, you then question why the video cuts out before seeing it move off.

Before posting, trying reading all of the story and the follow-up comments posted here. It will help you appear to be less ignorant than you presently admit to being.

Cool pictures and video

I also did some editing of the first picture (the three lights) the OP posted.
Here is my editing -

I zoomed, cropped and adjusted the color/saturation levels of the image. I found some interesting things - which are all noted on the edited picture.

Good job OP

That "Field" is nothing but compression artifacts from you blowing the image up so much.

IMHO, that video isn't good at all. Thanks for the contribution though.

I'm just trying to say that the evidence should stand for itself. As to why the guy 'apparently' says about his camera cutting out bla bla bla, yawn: that could be BS too. I'm taking the evidence at face value without buying into what may or may not be true, according to the witness.

I see where you are coming from. I hope that you understand where I am coming from, rationally, as to not cloud my judgement on this video.
