Hey everybody, what with events currently in the state that they are, i'd like to request some clarification. Lets say that the US and UK invade Iran, what would the response from nations like China and Russia be? Would it be the official start of World War 3 (which I, probably like many of you, hope is never ignited) or would it be a response like the Iraq invasion-you shouldn't have done that, naughty brits/americans-but no actual military response? I'm just trying to get clear before i go posting in other threads and run the risk of coming off as an uneducated fool

I'm not a religious man per se, but I hope to GOD that there isnt a nuclear exchange ignited because of the problems with the middle east

Currently russia and china have major economic ties with Iran. china gets tons of oil from Iran. Iran buys most of its weapons from either Russia and China. Strategically Iran is the ideal partner for both countries.

Any US attack on Iran would defenitely cause a stir in both China and russia. While not openly stated, it appears that America is positioning itself to be the dominant player in the control of Middle Eastern oil.

Its to hard to say if there is any real military alliance between China Russia and Iran. While they do a lot of trading, I think Iran is sort of viewed as a rogue nation, even by russia and china.

Nonetheless its scary to think about. Glenn Beck, who has a program on CNN, is an avid believer in the Iran-russia-china alliance. If you asked him he would say this is the start of WW3.

I highly doubt China or Russia is willing to actually commit to a military alliance with Iran, which as we all know is a rogue nation.

They most certainly will condemn the attack and at most will send weapons and monetary support to the Iranians.

However, if China and/or Russia takes this up to another level... well, let's just say that aside from the casualties of war, the global economy would be destroyed... we'd ALL be jobless.

For Russia to go to war with us would be silly because we gave them their strong economy because we helped a group of people that are currently terrorists but were then freedom fighters and they fought what was then the Soviet Union and then we Democratized the nation.

There is no reason for Russia and China to support Iran. First of all

1) Their economy would collapse and the US would stop trading with them
2) Iran's economy isn't as big as our economy is
3) Russia is looking forward to making economic ties with us and not ruining them.

It won't happen in your lifetime, there won't be another war with Russia and or China unless they fight a proxy war with us and each other on one country.

Uh.. Maverick, if the Chinese economy collapses, so will the U.S'.

Don't you remember a few weeks ago when the Chinese markets plunged and took the U.S. markets down as well? Resulting in BILLIONS of dollars in losses and a drop seen only since 9/11.

LOL: "Oh, the Chinese won't do anything, we'll just STOP trading with them and they'll die." - STOP with the OUTRAGEOUS ignorance, I am so sick and tired of this.

If the Chinese economy goes down, so will the United State's economy.. if the Chinese markets CRASH, so will the United States - SIMPLE as that.

While this is true in some respects, it is also true that Russia is coming into its own economically and they probably wont need the US's help. They are now totally debt free. They have major oil reserves that they use as an economic and political bullying tool. They have reestablished ties with many of the former Soviet republics as well.
