Blind Teenager Kicked Off Bus in Calgary

calsun.canoe.ca

Linda Visser's 13-year-old son Brian was on his way home from St. Bonaventure school Friday, when he was told to get off his usual bus, the angered mom said yesterday.

The Grade 8 student, who suffers from albinism, is legally blind and uses his Canadian National Institute for the Blind transit card to gain access to public transportation, but the card was not enough to appease the driver, said Linda.

With Radios and cellphones on most if not all buses, how is a mistake like this possible?

Or better yet rather then kick him off the bus why not ask him if he had the correct fare so he could get home and sort the problem out later?

Well, that's just disgusting. It seems to me that we, as a society, have lost our compassion for others. The kid had a card proving he was blind - what more did the driver want?
I think the bus driver should be fired and have to do jail time or pay a fine. What's her crime? How about "criminal stupidity".
Where are the Stupid Police when you need them?
